Ok so I posted a thread a while back (a couple months ago) asking for some feedback on a really good blue raspberry flavor. I was told to try OSDIY's blue raspberry slush. It is good but not exactly what I'm looking for. What I am looking for is a BR like you use to get out of the slushee machine at the corner store when you were a kid or a BR like you would get on a snow cone. Anybody have any feedback on a BR like what I'm looking for? I would love to hear what y'all have to say.

I vape a diy blue cotton candy all the time and I recently ran out. Someone gave me a bottle of spacejam particle X and told me I would probably like it. WOW! It reminded me of a blue raspberry/cotton candy mix. Might give that a try. I wish I had the recipe to make something like particle X. The stuff is pricey.

I've been looking for the same thing. For me, it doesn't exist. I tried the blue raspberry slush, didn't care for it too much until I added coconut and koolada, but that's not what you're looking for. Good luck!

How long have you been looking for it?

I got some juice called Heisenberg yesterday. It's supposed to be blue raspberry. It's good but again not what I'm looking for. If you end up finding something like what we are looking for let me know. I've been half tempted to go to some of the slushee or snow cone place and finding where they get their flavors and see what the ingredients are and see if it's vapable.

I've only been looking for it for about 6 months. I'll be following this thread in hopes you find something delicious!

I would not recommend vaping them directly. The slushy/icee machines, and snow cone/shave ice, flavors are syrups (sugar(s)+water) with artificial flavoring. Though the flavors very well could be similar/same as what we use to DIY; the syrup base, and all the other additives, makes it a no-go for me. Here is just one example (from Icee's product page):

I am wondering, with all that sugar, if part of your difficulty in finding the "right" combination isn't textural? That heavy syrup creates a real thick (sticky?) mouth-feel along with a LOT of sweetness. If I were looking to try to replicate this I would be using something like TFA Sweetener at a relatively high percentage (maybe 2% to start and go up as needed), plus a Marshmallow and/or Meringue to thicken up the mouth-feel even more. That will get the texture moving in the right direction. The high percentage of sweetener will be something of a coil killer; but I think it would have the added advantage of smoothing out some of the harsh/artificial notes that often accompany the candy type fruit flavors.

Flavor is the kicker. It has been decades since I have had an Icee; so my memory is minimal at best. But, as I recall, there actually wasn't that much "berry" to it; mostly just "sweet." I don't recall either the blueberry, or the raspberry, being center-stage. They just kind of blurred together until they became nondescript. So that makes me think and equal balance in flavor/strength (though may not be in percentage due to individual concentrate strength). Finally, to give it that 'pop,' I think a lime, like TFA Key Lime or FA Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed, at just a hint, will seal the deal.

If it is too berry-ish; then I would look at cutting the berries with more subtle fruits (at low percentages) like apple, pear, or dragon fruit. This could help to dilute the berry-forwardness; while maintaining the overall "fruitiness" of the profile. This would be similar in effect to what juice companies do. Look at any major label juice like Welsh's, Ocean Spray, or Tree Top, and you will see they often use multiple fruits in a single fruit flavor label. You might see that a "Grape" juice is made with Apple, Pear, and Grape juices.

I am not really a "sweet" juice vaper but this brainstorming has me kind of curious. I may have to break out the supplies and see what I can do. I probably need to go find a slurpee first and see how bad my memory is. :)

If you mix try this, it's one of my ADV's

Blue Rasp Slushie OSDIY - 14%
Marshmallow TFA - 0.70%
Raspberry Sweet TFA - 0.70%
Sweet and Tart TFA - 1%
You got a name for this @Marc411? I have all the ingredients, and want to add it to my recipe software, but need to attach a name.

I have the OSDIY BR and have only tried it once. I wasn't particularly impressed so I haven't been motivated to revisit it. This looks like your recipe might be just the ticket.

Thanks for sharing!:D

Thank you for that very informative post. I especially enjoyed the part about how different fruit flavors can help a recipe![emoji4]

Nope, but if you make it and think it's good let me know what you name it and I will update my recipe ;)

I wasn't impressed either but love raspberry so I wanted to make it work. Vaping it right now in Roxy's Merlin.

Will do. Do you find this to be a shake-n-vape? I would think from the ingredient list that is would be. I am mixing a sample as soon as I post this. :)

I'm not saying I'm going to be vaping the slushee flavoring. That's just the flavor I'm after. I wouldn't vape that stuff...no way. The blue raspberry I get from a sno cone place locally is the best I've had so hopefully I can find just a flavor concentrate with no syrup.

A friend told me that she has a friend that has flavor concentrates (without the simple syrup) for sno cones and one of the ingredients is PG. I tried looking in the website for the rest of the ingredients and I couldn't find them so I asked her if next time she talks to him if she would ask for the ingredients. I just thought about it but I'm going to write an email to the company and ask for the ingredients list for the blue raspberry flavor then research them and see if they are or not vapable.

Thanks for your input!

I don't have the sweet and tart. I have sour but that probably wouldn't work unless I use that at super low % and use sweetener. Maybe.
