In case you didn't know..........3, now 4 of my polycarbonate tanks have cracked. These were all from different vendors, & I didn't use any sort of "tank cracking" type of juice in them. I didn't even contact the vendor for a replacement. I decided to order replacement tubing from McMaster Carr. While looking for some polycarbonate to replace the cracked tanks, I said, "screw it,I want stainless silver tanks"......I realized that I already had stainless silver top/bottom caps here at the house. So it was pretty cost effective for me to buy the $50/4ft of stainless steel, & have my husband cut & buff it into gorgeous stainless steel tanks for me.

At the moment he's working on the 4th tank. By the end of the night I'll have a photo of my 9 stainless steel tanks on this thread.

~2 of the tanks will use cartomizers
~7 of the tanks will use CE2s

What did I do with the cracked tanks you ask? Well, yesterday I mailed them off to a vendor that is researching tank making material. He is actually going to test the supposed polycarbonate tanks for me.

Stay tuned in this thread :) The only tools it takes my husband to do this is a pipe cutter, dremel tool, buffing wheel & rouge. Once again, I already had the top/bottom caps here at the house. Stainless steel is so much more classy than polycarbonate anyway.

I will say that the supposed polycarbonate tanks definitely behave like acrylic.

Real polycarbonate should be strong enough to be run over by a truck & not crack.

My husband is finished with all of them, & i tested them with water. No leaks, & i already tested the straight pipi by running it over with both the bmw, suv,& hubby's truck

Ill get the specs from. My husband. Id/od is what really matters. You can just use a different size oring to make it fit stainless caps if need be.

My husband wants them to look perfect for me, so he is putting finishing touches on them now....... i just wanna take pics, lol

Ahhhhh forgot to add that i only use organically flavored, vg based juice..... so the purest of pure in the polycarbonate. I think from the oring getting wet & swelling, it had nowhere to go but out.

The only other juice that was in my tank for 3 days before cracking was GBC, by vapalicious. I talked to candy both here & at vapefest & she says that no one else has reported that juice as being a "tank cracker". This is why I'm now questioning the material.

The caps & tank match perfectly!!! I can't wait to post pics for you guys. This is definitely a game changer if you are handy with simple tools.

Like i said, i already had 9 sets of stainless caps, so i didn't have to invest more money in those. Even then a set of ss caps from Http://bigdaddyvapor.com is only $30.

Now, this is bmwjen style "tank couture". Set a P-18 with stainless tank beside a P-18 with a polycarbonate tank, & you will see what I mean.

Breaktru, I don't care what you drive, I still love you, & if you've got caps, i'm sending tubing to you. :) :)gasp: i almost sold one of my 9mms to buy this Tiffany & Co. necklace that i'm dying to have) I can't bring myself to sell one of my 9's though.....even if it is a throw down piece.

They still need buffed out.............but I talked the husband into letting me take pics. :)

Tank Couture, for mod horders that love sexy things :)

My "lil' Mama" tank still is full of butterscotch juice........so I haven't switched her over to stainless steel yet. That will probably happen tomorrow.

My husband said it was "sorta difficult". I don't know exactly what that means since he didn't look like he was having a hard time. I think he was more concerned with aesthetics, because he knows I am concerned ALOT with aesthetics......along with durability.

Measurments...........my husband is gonna have to measure them again. As this was actually an impulse/moment of being super mad at vendors & tanks that I purchased the stainless steel tubing. I basically was putting in ID/OD/thickness at the Masters McCarr website as he was measuring & I didn't write it down.

couture, couture baby

Ummmmm........ I want one holly hell thats nice, I need some bling for my Lava Tank. Have you tried it on your Lava Tank? Also did I see a Spade in your collection? I still have mine.....

Sent from my DROID BIONIC

Lee,
The lava tank is gone...........why use plastic on a stainless steel $200/$300 mod? It doesn't make sense. The idea is to get away from any type of plastic/breakable material & get on with something that is just as high quality as my mods.

The only mods i'll buy from here on out (as of a few weeks ago) are stainless steel, REOs, & anything Super-T.

1. measure your polycarbonate or your caps, however you are gonna make them fit.
2. order your parts (stainless steel tubing from mcarr masters)
3. receive your parts via UPS in approx 3-4 days
4. measure your tank to however big/small you want it
5. decide whether you are gonna have a CE2 or standard cartomizer tank
6. use a pipe cutter to cut the stainless steel pipe
7. bevel in the ends of your piece of pipe that you cut for your tank
8. use a dremel tool & buffing rouge to buff your tank to a shiny finish
9. put bottom cap on the tank, add CE2 or cartomizer
10. fill with juice
11. put top cap on
12. screw tank onto mod (use a 510/510 connection if your connection is recessed).
13. Vape

(If you need to purchase stainless steel caps, you can get them for like $30 from http://bigdaddyvapor.com )These work well with carto tanks. The caps for my CE2 tanks came off polycarbonate tanks that I had from another vendor. That vendor doesn't sell the caps separately.
