Hello All,

Are there many of you that vape BB out of a genesis? I'm using an RSST and get an overwhelming cinnamon flavor. When using the dripper I get non of that cinnamon. It's not a good cinnamon either. Just curious if any of you guys or gals out there like BB in a genny. If so what resistance coil do you use? I'm using .5mm kanthal ribbon 2/3 wrap which gives me ~.8 ohms on a mech.

Yep, I like it in a genni. Usually a 3 or 4 wrap of twisted 32ga for around 1.0-1.2 ohms on a 1/8" wick. I haven't tried with the ribbon kanthal, yet, as I only got my hands on some of it a couple months ago when I was already out of BB from my Jan order.

Taste-wise, I don't notice a whole lot of difference between mesh and silica with Boba's. It comes across noticeably sweeter on silica, but the overall flavor profile is pretty much the same. One of the few juices that I've found to vape similarly (for me, anyway) with both wick types

I love the ribbon wire! It just takes it a tiny step further for me as far as vapor and flavor. Another thing I'm living is micro wicks. But it's hard to get a lot of wraps with ribbon so I just use 28 gauge for those.

Been playing with the RSST and Boba's tonight. I guess it's only when I puff it that it has that odd cinnamon flavor. When I just hit it normally it does taste similar to the ERA minus a bit of sweetness as killjoy1 mentioned.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I've been using Boba's in gens exclusively for 2 years. I can almost guarantee that you are getting a short through your mesh. Everyone says as long as your coils light up evenly you're good, but that's not always true. You can have perfectly glowing coils that all light up at the same time and still get a weird taste. This is usually caused either by the coils shorting on the wick or your wick shorting to ground through the wick hole. This also wastes battery power.
Also, is it a burnt cinnamon or just straight cinnamon?

Ooh, good point. Sometimes I get a coil that glows perfectly, but one wrap might be just a hair too far away from the wick and gives me an off taste. Doesn't happen often so I didn't think of it when I posted before

I prefer my bobas in a orion 2.1. Its the best flav and wicking i have found for bobas . I try it in everything new i get but it always ends up back in the orion.

It's funny how most gennys can perform the same but for some reason you will have a favorite that just works better every time. I run my Boba's through a nova mod v2. It's almost like an Orion but with a bottom button. It. Tastes the best for some reason!

What mesh are you using, Wookie? The 500 is the consensus favorite. I use 500 in fat wicks, but I also get really good flavor with 400 thin wicks. They don't take as much abuse as the thick 500s, but they really taste great when they are dialed in, and they wick well. I use the ribbon kanthal now and really like it.

You might add another coil, as .8 is a really warm vape. A coil with a bit more resistance might get you more flavor, particularly sweeter flavors. It can be tricky to really dial in a genny, and I haven't had a chance to use the RSST. I've got a few Zenesis devices for RBAs.

I've run 400 and 500 mesh and did not notice much of a difference between the two. On a whim I decided to try SS rope which is what I am currently using. It is 3/32 in diameter in a 7x7 configuration, T304, NON galvinized!! I rinse it, boil it, torch it, rinse it, boil it, torch it, and rinse it again before first use. I then wrap some oxidized 400 or 500 mesh on the part that sits above the deck I usually can chain vape it w/out any dry hits. It seems to wick very well compared to a lot of the mesh wicks that I've made although I am sure that is probably mostly due to my technique/skill or lack thereof.

I am accustomed to running .5 coils on RDAs but I thought I would run a new coil on it since the first one was angled kind of wrong and digging into my mesh. This new coil is .8mm kanthal ribbon 3/4 wrap. I used it all day today and it was and BB flavor was better off the bat but still a tiny bit funky. As the day progressed it got much better and now is yielding flavor that I would expect from BB. I uploaded a vid of my coil to youtube but it is still "processing" I'll post it back here as soon as it's done.

I wish some of you genesis pros lived in the area so I could compare my build w/ yours and also compare flavors.

I'm looking into getting into my first genesis-style atomizer. Any recommendations? I don't need a high-end one. I've been wrapping silica with Kanthal for a while now, so I'm used to the wrapping part. I know it's different with the genesis-style, and a bit harder to do. What size mesh should I go for? 400? 500? I'll basically be running BB or GJ exclusively through it. U guys seem to know what u r talkin about with the genny's, so that's y I'm asking here, and the fact that I'm going to be running BB or GJ only. Thanks guys.

I love the ribbon but the main complaint I have is that when the coil gets kinked up against the mesh it really digs in and shorts out cause its so thin it digs right through any oxidation layer. I think Boba's and gorilla juice are the two hardest to set up on mesh. If they aren't perfect, you'll get a funky taste.

400 mesh works fine and tends to be a little cheaper than 500 (that may have changed since I last stocked up, but was true at that time).

I haven't tried many of the inexpensive gennis, but I do have an RSST and it works great. Nice big wick hole is good for me since i like bigger wicks and the insulated wick hole is a plus, not to mention it's only about $35

That's what's I was thinking about getting. Either that or a AGA T. Thanks for the info on the mesh.

I think the rsst would be a little easier to setup but I don't know if they are in stock anywhere. They went crazy after everyone saw that they are a good atty for cheap. I wish I woulda bought one instead of an ac9. I got the ac9 cause the tank is supposed to be bullet proof but is already cracking and I've never dropped it or anything. Also the 400 mesh is a good starting point so +1 on that killjoy

Thanks, JShill. I'll keep my eye out for one. Sucks about your ac9. What's the +1 mean? I've seen it other places.

Oh +1 on the 400 lol meaning I agree with killjoy's recommendation on 400 mesh. 500 works good too but sometimes mine will get kinda clogged and start getting dry hits. It's best to try different mesh sizes but 400 will get you going just fine.
