Hey guys,

I recently went from my trusty clearomizer to a carto-tank. Alot of people recommended (including the store I buy stuff) to use the Boge 510D LR carto for my tank. The Boge is wonderful, has a great taste and everything but I have a small problem..after I consume my e-lequid from the tank, I refill the tank and the carto seems to burn out, giving me a slight burn taste. Is there something I do wrong? Do i need to drip some e-liquid directly into the cartomizer at each refill?

Thanks in advance for any tips/info you guys throw at me.

It depends on the PG/ VG ratio of your juice as to how it wicks into the tank. Using 70/ 30 PG/ VG PG/ VG (have also used 60/ 40 without problem) with 1 hole 2.5 mm wide in carto. Relize also sometimes there's a negative pressure buildup in the tank. That's the reason I prefer tanks with a side screw opening- not so nice looking but very easy to fill and equalize the pressure.
With carto/ tank system cartos last before getting tight draw:
light juice= 80-90 ml
dark juice= 50-60 ml
Occasionally if I'm chain vaping I need to add a few drops into the top of carto OR do as recidivus in Post #5 has suggested:
"Take primer puffs (quick/hard pulls) without firing the battery."

Carto tanks can be a bit finicky at times and there's a few "tricks" to them.

It sounds the carto isn't getting liquid in it. Take primer puffs (quick/hard pulls) without firing the battery. If you see bubbles come out the holes it's wicking properly. Every few (~5ish) vape pulls do a couple primers. Make sure you see at least one bubble come out the hole, it'll be hard to oversaturate it using primers (I've sat and done primers for 5 minutes straight once, just to test)

Another thing is to resaturate the carto when you refill the tank. It doesn't have to be completely saturated like when you put on a fresh carto, but a dozen or 2 drops can help.

If you're using a higher VG% then you may want cartos with 2 or 3 holes, VG is thicker and can have trouble getting in the holes. Another thing to try is adding a drop or two of distilled water half way through tank fill, fill the rest, shake. Don't overdo it, adding distilled is easy, but you can't get it out. If you DO thin it too much empty the tank a bit and add more undiluted juice, shake and test. You get a feel for how thick the juice should look after a while.

I never fill up the tank when there's nothing left. Usually when the liquid goes under the hole, I refill it. When I do primer puffs, there's always a bubble pooping, so I'm guessing the carto is filling well. As for the liquid, I'm mainly using the PG DK-Tab flavour (11 mg). This thing is rather random and once per 2 tank fills, I pour 2-3 drops on within the carto, to keep it moisted. I don't know if that's a good thing or not, seemed logic at the time.

Also, it might be due to chain vaping..but didn't give this a thought at the time..I'll monitor myself a bit, to isolate the problem hehe

"Quick-tip - once its half empty you can depressurize it by removing the screw for 15 sec. This allows E-liquid to flow into the carto freely to help prevent a dry hit. Another tip for a dry carto - take the screw out and vape normally until you hear gurgling, replace screw and continue vaping. This tip can lead to flooding if done too long but works great for those rare cartos that just don't want to absorb e-liquid. Hope this helps!"
