Got this one last week. English walnut and curly maple. This is now my favorite set-up, I just love this thing. In fact, loved it so much I ordered a redwood lace burl body, ebony end/inlay one for dress up. Highly recommend these: Quality workmanship, top pocket friendly & reliable. I'll probably get a VV sometime down the road.

The shields you should be able to get with no worries trippy tips on the other hand are a little tough
