Sorry to hear about your DNA20 box.

Good idea with the snipping tool. Both of the emails I've sent him have been politely asking for an update, mentioning that the 40 days had well passed and I'd be ok waiting a little more if he gives me an update. What reasons could he have for not replying to a reasonably worded request?

In any case thanks a bunch for taking the time to respond. The advice is appreciated :)

I had read the boggerbox thread before it was closed. I ordered a custom mini bottom feeder in September and saw that people who ordered theirs not much earlier than me were spontaneously receiving them. I read this around Oct or Nov and decided to give it a bit more to see if I get mine.

Just saw this thread and tomzgreat's last post and I don't know whether to be encouraged or more cautious. I'm still waiting on my boggerbox and I'm not sure if I should just call the credit card company already. What a crap situation. I'm sorry but in the vaping world this guy should lose all credibility, despite having been good in the past. It's just unacceptable in any situation to cut out people who gave you money and leave them in the dark.

At the very least you should contact your credit card and see what your options are there at this point, if any. There are no nationwide laws governing credit cards when it comes to time limits you have to file a dispute. It all comes down to what your CC agreement says. And depending on the bank - cough, cough Bank America - they prefer to find technical reasons in the CC agreement why they shouldn't be bothered to reverse a charge. How well you are treated and how long you have to file a claim on something getting as protracted as these Bogger problems varies from issuing bank to bank. At least if you call your bank first you will know how many options you have to deal with this.

Personally I would never find this acceptable, the concept of paying in full for an item that isn't anywhere near a work bench with no concrete date for completion. You don't do that with home repairs or construction. You don't even pay in full in advance to get shoes repaired. Why this pre-manufacture, 100% pay in full is sliding into place as some kind of standard here I find boggling. You want to build something for me? You get a deposit. You want the rest of the agreed upon money? You complete the work. It's not all that amazing how lazy Attorneys - and in these cases mod builders - can get if you pay them in full when they haven't even started to do a damned thing for you.

Tom, it's sad to see you're still giving him the benefit of the doubt after all his excuses, sometimes I wonder if you're his Schill. I've never seen the Post Office "Lose" so many packages from one Vendor. If and when they were finally "delivered" to the P.O., the Tracking Number, if you received a valid one, never updated. The other excuses were always about the "Finish not being right", or "it just needs the electronics installed."

I was one of the lucky few, two Custom DNA 20's ordered the end of April 2012, never bothered him, shipping notification ~6/24 with a "Tracking Number" that wasn't recognized by USPS. My first two contacts were after the 4th of July Holiday since my package hadn't arrived, I got the "bad finish excuse", and finally 10 days later both boxes arrived without notice.

They both look beautiful and work splendidly... I hardly use them because of Marcus' total disrespect towards those who've purchased his products in good faith, and deserve a response regardless of how long they've been waiting. If he has time to delete messages from his Face Book, and continue taking orders, than his current clients should be as important as his future clients. If he's so "backed up" quit FBing and taking new orders until you're satisfying your current clients, "word of mouth is a powerful advertisement", positively or negatively, it's his choice expressed by his actions.

As for the number of negative posts you've seen... does the number matter more than the length of time it takes to reply to a simple request, or or how long any complaint is successfully rectified. Poor Customer Service is poor Customer Service, and you can receive it from nice guys as well as egg-heads, to put it nicely.

The bottom line is, when someone is looking for a good product, they'll also need great follow-up for any future problems, do you really think they can count on that? I sure don't!

Hi. I just wanted to let everyone know. I bought a DNA 20 bottom feeder Bogger Box last week. It was Leopardwood with Wedge inlays - it was in stock and listed on their website. I wanted the drip well to be milled down and wide enough to fit my cyclone with the AFC cap attached so I sent an email and asked if that was possible. Marcus replied within 10 minutes and said he could do that and he also said he could ship out that same day. Marcus did indeed customize the drip well and ship it out within an hour of me placing the order, he even sent me a pic of what the customization looked like before he shipped it. I received it in 3 days. I cant explain why the others here have had the issues they have but I received top notch customer service and nearly instant replies to every email I sent. Just wanted to let every one know that at least from my experience this week - Boggers are alive and well.

Hey dive. I'm very happy to hear you have received proper customer care.

It is very confusing how differently he treats his customers. Everyone who has experienced the opposite of your situation wishes they could explain why they are being ignored by someone who has their money, promised a product in a certain amount of time, and has yet to send the item or an update/response as to the status of their long overdue product.

Possibly because his new customer base has shriveled to a party of one.

Best of luck with the mod. I, for one, sure ain't going there.

Schill- Definition
A shill, also called a plant or a stooge, is a person who publicly helps a person or organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with the Person or Organization.

I have no affiliation with Bogger Box Mods I have publicly posted how to deal with them and included suggestions to charge back credit cards. This is hardly the actions of a Schill.

Yes early on I was a Bogger Box Fan, because Marcus gave great service and product, now I can't recommend him and don't. From my experience when a company is going out of business and totally not delivering the thread is way bigger then this.

I know I have posted on another thread about not receiving the custom Booger Mod that I ordered in late July. I finally am happy to say that I did receive it in late November, but I did have to send 3 emails through the website with the final email demanding a reply with the status of the product by a certain date or I would be contacting the CC company to reverse the charge. It was crazy that I never even received an email or a call, just a email with a tracking number and the status on the tracking number didn't change for a week. According to the postage paid it should have been expedited shipping. Now I look at it...scared to use it because if something breaks or I wear the finish off, I don't feel like I would never be able to have it repaired and God forbid I need spare parts or new bottles. I'm really at a loss :(

Sorry you had such a bad experience, but from what I've read, ours wasn't as bead as the majority!!! It's a shame to have $500 invested and rarely use them... Maybe you should sell them if your so disgruntled... Not so sure you'd get even half of what you paid for them though!!

First, thanks for the spelling correction, and yes I know about Shill's. I do know your love of the Bogger DNA 20 & other Bogger Mods, I had read and enjoyed your posts on you experiences, which gave me the final nudge to buy two. Totally my choice alone, still love the Mod but not the experience from the first shipping notification.

Mine was not shipped Priority either, but I was glad they finally arrived. I understand your trepidation about any future service you might need, as long as you don't abuse your Mod and follow the cleaning tips for the finish you should get good use from your Mod. You could probably get some 6ml bottles to replace the 8ml or the 3ml to replace the 4ml (not sure which Mod you have) from another Bottom-Feed Vendor, I hope this helps.

Sorry you had such a bad experience, but from what I've read, ours wasn't as bead as the majority!!! It's a shame to have $500 invested and rarely use them... Maybe you should sell them if your so disgruntled... Not so sure you'd get even half of what you paid for them though!!

My experience wasn't as bad as most, exactly why I feel so badly for those who have, and a bit guilty stupid I know when I do enjoy them. I'm not disgruntled, just confused and bewildered as to why such a promising Modder became overwhelmed, abandoned his ECF Thread and customers for months at a time.

I doubt posting them in the classies would draw any interest do to poor Customer Service, the Mods themselves are well built and perform flawlessly. Since the do contain a DNA 20 chip, it may eventually need service or repair, which is a bridge to cross far, far down the road.

Enjoy them if you have them, or give them to someone who doesn't (win-win situation ;) ). No one wants to see a fellow vaper consumed by guilt, not if we can help it :toast:

Incidentally I had to call my bank about a charge made on my check card that I didn't recognize. When I later explained the situation with bogger box, the rep told me it wouldn't be a problem to process a claim if I hadn't received the product within the 40 days. They said it takes anywhere between 3-7 business days. So I sent one last email to bogger box saying that if I didn't get a response within 48 hours I would proceed with the claim. Honestly it's going to take a pretty apologetic and detailed email for me to call the bank and cancel the claim, which I don't think I'll get.

I'm just worried I'll get a tracking number or something, which wouldn't be much comfort given that some people have mentioned he sends tracking numbers and doesn't actually ship it for another while. In that case I might just email back saying forget it and proceed with the claim; I think that would be the "safer" route.

Just lurking here, but I read this thread, and the shut down supplier thread and just could not believe what I saw! The last time he made an appearance on HIS supplier thread to HIS customers, he went on to insult the people who gave him their hard earned money, but questioned him. SMH. I have seen people get downright brutal with fast food employees over a $.99 burger, but everyone on the sellers' thread were nothing but understanding and professional with hundreds of dollars at stake. Shoot! Even the poor guy from Malaysia edited out his expletive! It just appeared to me that the more anybody complained, the further down the line the modder kicked the order. Maybe to retaliate? My 2c. Those were some pretty mods, but I would not pull the plug! Not after what I saw on here. I cannot believe he still has a website going.

After reading Worzel's post which sums up the saga pretty well, I realize it isn't/ wasn't guilt but the vendor's venomous responses and excuses to his customers seeking answers, it burned my hide.

Give them up?... Never, when I do use them the work great and I do enjoy them. I'm sure over time I'll use them more frequently as the memories of what had happened are forgotten.

I hold no personal grudge and hope he fulfills his obligations to those with a grievance. Hopefully over time Bogger Box/ Marcus will benefit from the past, re-think and improve his customer service and like a Phoenix, rise from the ashes and be successful.

But it was a terrible read all the same! Maybe he should have stopped doing custom orders after he finished his obligations, casually made them, and put them up on his site for immediate sale. It looked like a bad case of too much too soon.

I had contacted Marcus back in August before all this seemed to have blown up. And he seemed alright, said he would repair my mod in about a week or 2. As time went by he started getting harder and harder to contact.

I had a friendly talk with my attorney and had decided to contact the BBB and the Attorney General in New Mexico. After so many failed attempts to get any response from Marcus I had had enough!!! I sent one last email to Marcus letting him know of my intentions and decided to give him a week or so to respond.

After about a week and a half of still no response from him I had letters in hand and copies of emails from early on when I did still have some communication with Marcus when my wife text me at work and said I had a package!? She went on to tell me it was from Bogger Box Mods so I told her to open it and sure enough I finally after 5 months of waiting I had my mod back and it was even repaired as was originally requested!!!!

The thing that still confuses me is there was still never any email or even a note with the mod giving any kind of reason for the delay or an apology. Go figure.....

At least my long wait and lack of communication with them is over!!

I really love their mods and the craftsmanship is great but the lack of customer support is completely incompetent and inexcusable!!

I hope everyone else that has been having issues with them gets their problems figured out. But I definitely would NOT recommend anyone to make any new purchases with them unless they begin to show some kind of serious changes with customer relations!!!
