Boiling Cartomizers

I just recently attempted boiling some older Carts and one has been brought completely back to life, but I'm guessing there's still a lil bit of water in it caue the taste is a little off but it's getting better with each vape...I haven't attempted to try any of the other ones yet...I was wondering if anyone wanted to share any insight on boiling, perhaps why they did or didn't like it and whether they feel it was worth it...And please I don't want to hear you're rants about cartomizers being disposable, I'm not an idiot...I'm aware they eventually give out but if you can make them last a little longer why not

I boil the cartos for approx 15mins with the end caps off. I then either let them air dry for 48 hrs or put them in a 200C oven for approx 2hrs.

When I next use them and find that they are hard on the draw or have a burnt taste, I bin them.

If they work fine and taste good they're a keeper.

I usually get about 3 weeks from a carto before I put them through the boiling process.

I've got a couple duds in the mail before but thats it.. normally whenever I buy juice I just get carts but that's because I was preparing for them to die...The life is supposedly really short but they work fine for me and go forever..And I rarely clean them or anything, again just did my first boil in like jesus 3 or 4 months...I've have 3 that developed super disgusting taste after regular lengthened use, but other than that, these things simply refuse to die for me...I swear by carts...I honestly feel they last as long as attys

I'm new at all this, about a month into vaping and all that it entails! But so far I have found that boiling them for 5-10minutes and letting them air dry upside down over night works just fine for me. I am finding that they won't hold as much liquid after you've done this, so this time around I got a bit more organized w/ my cartos so I can refill them w/ the same flavor for awhile before boiling again. Either way it has been cheaper so far than buying a carton every 2 weeks!

I haven't actually tried boiling mine yet, but I've been using the syringe-method for cleaning them out using very hot water. I use a MixMizer - it's one of those syringe-looking things for measuring oils, etc for mixing in chainsaw fuel, etc - they're cheap and they break easily, but it was easier than trying to find a syringe that size. It also works well for blowing out most of the water too.

Boiling might actually work better though. I've noticed a faint trace smell/taste of previous fluids once in a while. One had the filler come out on me after I cleaned it, so I took it apart the rest of the way and a lot of the filler still had diluted e-fluid in it. Now I "sling" all my cartos from the battery end (with a cap on the end to catch fluid) to remove excess fluid before cleaning and water after they've been cleaned. Sometimes as much as almost half a cap-full of fluid comes out even though the cartos "taste" empty.

I've noticed a big improvement in performance after refilling - and all my cartos are about a month old (original ones from when I started last month :2cool:)
