Boiling is extreme on the very thin wires in the atomizer that you can not see--many of us have done the boil and it works great for a day or two and then dies--so let us know how yours held up with an update.

Will do! I only boiled my DSE for about 60 seconds, but my NPro (my backup e-cig) I boiled for almost 4 minutes and it's been working great for over a week. I think it even works better than it did when it was new!

I wonder why you keep trying to make the point that boiling an atomizer will kill it when there's no definitive evidence to support this?

Many here boil there atomizers with good results; others boil them and they die. Some never boil them and they die. Atomizers are just funny things.

If an atomizer loses performance and it is boiled....and 2 days later it dies....how can you say with any definity it was from the boiling?

I don't know, it just seems that despite several people explaining how the boiling has worked for them, you have an insistence that it will kill them...or that it's not good for them.

I really don't see how you can draw that conclusion when it has worked out well for others.

I've had my 901 for about a month now and try to clean in about once a week. I'm still using the same atomizer and it's still going very strong. Plenty of vapor and flavor and it still makes me cough at times, hehe! I have boiled once and it did make a difference. It was about 2 weeks after I got it. I boiled for about 10 mins. It did okay, but it takes a while to dry and there was a funny kind of burnt hair taste for a little while. Rather unpleasant. Ever since, tho, I have been experimenting with the everclear method and it's been working very well for me. I'll soak it for about an hour, then take it out and drip some into the chamber and cover each end with my thumb and index finger and shake it like a fizzy soda bottle! Works very well and dries quickly. For a while I was using just the "blow and tap" method, but I started to notice that after time the tapping made the atomizer slide up toward where the cartidge goes almost a centimeter or 2! Scared the crap outta me! I pushed it back down with a bent paperclip and it has worked fine since.

Long story short, I recommend the everclear!

I have only (2) 901 atomizers. One kicked .... from day one. The other was wimpy from the first moment. I fiddled and dripped and puffed harder on it to no avail.

So I took a 4oz drinking glass and filled it halfway with water. Stuck the water in the microwave and got it boiling. Then I took the glass out and I added about 1 oz of white vinegar and then dropped in the wimpy atomizer. I set this whole setup on my desk and waited several hours. Which allowed it to cool down gradually.

Then I took the atomizer over to the faucet and rinsed it with warm water. After that I blew it out from the battery end and let it sit overnight.

In the morning I blew on it again and gave it a few drops of juice. Puffed a few times and heard water steaming away in there. I gave it a few more drops of juice. Puffed a bit more (harder this time) and it produced good vapor like my other atomizer. It's been fine for many days now.

Yes, the wires inside are small and the connections are whimpy. But, I've gotta figure, these things perform under extreme heat and oily, steamy conditions on a normal basis. They do get hot when vaping! Shoot, there's a coiled wire in there that acts just like the cigarette lighter in your car when it heats up!

Sticking paperclips in them, tapping them on tables could break the wires. Gently putting them in boiling hot water seems to me to be a legitimate option. However, I would not recommend putting them in a pan on the stove. That could get too hot. Also if while it is actually boiling it can get slammed around.

In the end, if you have a lackluster atomizer that you have kissed off already, it doesn't hurt to give the boiling hot water thing a try. Worst case you could have a dead atomizer (still). Best case, it comes back to life!!:w00t:
