That's a great skill to have. Good for you.
A few years ago I got to the point of watching a bunch of "how to" videos but neve*r did spin my own. 90% of my builds are fused claptons (I buy spools of coilology ni80 2*28/36) so I should get back to it and try to make my own.
I used 2*28/ 34*34 only because I didn't have 36awg. My favorite use to be 2*26 + 34*36 all 316L. Popcorn for sure!

I learned how to build coils by watching video's of Sqid dude in the early days of vaping. After that I started to watch Coil wars. I realized that my skills would never come close to Tony Dance, M-turk, Ndevine, Mindforge and all the greatest coil builders out there.. I did mange to build some difficult coils like braids and correlated .4 ribbon staggered claptons but never like the pros.

Sounds like you went pretty deep. I wonder if there is still an active coil building sub culture out there? Hope so. Those skills and mod making are the best/most creative branches of vaping imo.

I think some guys are still keeping coil building alive In VU. The builds are very limited compared to the guys I mentioned earlier.

I started this one but I haven't fused it yet.. I know its not going to come out the way I would like, .4 flat ribbon is a Btch to maintain together. Some guys use glue at the ends, other's use masking tape. The pros just wrap wire around it at the ends and maintain it together as they fuse it, which is almost impossible.

Does Temco sale spools of this wire?
Yes, they sell spools. I only focus on TC material and have their smaller spools of SS, Titanium, Ni200, and Kanthal, but they also have Nichrome or NiFe (or maybe both). They don't have the higher gauges (thinner) some builders would want. Some available on Amazon.

Im going to see if I can pick up a few already made coils from coilology. I started vaping In 2011, if you weren't making it, you weren't vaping it...
There was one guy here that started twisting wires together before the clapton craze. I can't remember his name, but he was the one who started it all. I think his name was something moundy. Idk I can't remember the last flavor I vaped...

Well thinks aren't very good in my vapeland...... After some hypes with tanks, mods coils etc etc. i settled on mesh strips and mesh tanks. Seems like those days are over, tanks are hard to get and due to the laws importing "vapestuff" is hefty fined. Now i'm at a point i need to think about "evolving" and try something i know nothing about but, in my opinion, simplistic year 2K vape stuff. I use mostly DNA with my own setup finetuned in escribe so i'm out of mostly all the brands there are. I have been looking at the Tycoon boro device and the Kylin M boro tank but it seems too small for a mesh tank.
As you all must have guessed by know i'm not a MTL user but a DL or at most a RDL......
So i need a mod (lets try boro see what the hype is), a MESH RTA and it must be 21700. Also i live in Portugal so it must be something i can get out of Spain (someone will bring it to me) because sending something by mail and geting caught is complicated.

    Thaks for your help

If DL mesh coil vaping is your thing, it doesn't sound like boro devices are the best option for you. They really shine in MTL or rdll applications.

I have heard lots of good things about the Tycoon AIO. So you should be good there. And I also hear good things about the Kylin M boro too. Very easy to build on. I too am a DL/RDL vaper since I switched from MTL back in 2018. I'm a big fan of mesh and I mostly use boro style devices nowadays and use mesh in boro devices all of the time. As I feel mesh gives you more vapor and flavor over wire coils at the same wattage.

I found it interesting that you mentioned DNAs. I too prefer DNA mods the most. There are a lot of DNA60 boro style AIOs out there. Unfortunately they are usually 18650. There are a few DMA75C and 100C boro devices out there that takes a 21700. Although those are also expensive. There are a few DNA60C and 80C boards coming out this year with hopefully more on the way.

If you have anymore questions, just ask away and we will be happy to help.

    EDIT: spelling

I'd hoped someone could come up with a more useful answer than my negative one. @becosemsaida Bill is right - the Typhoon is a good device and tiny for a 21700. The battery cap can be a little annoying but is ok if you're careful to push down on the battery when installing or removing. It's not a DNA but the board is decent (I haven't used it in tc) and the build quality is good overall.

    The Ceto arrived today.
Very basic board - no TC, no boost curves. Just wattage adjust, power lock and screen flip. Probably the most basic I've seen. Battery usage seems efficient - full bars still after hours of intermittent use- tiny screen that turns off after 10 seconds The mod fires fast regardless of screen sleep mode.
It's my smallest boro mod and light but not tacky feeling. Short sample time but so far it does what I'd hoped it would.
