I see that 5A are doing Astro clones now too. They have a green one that looks pretty cool.I checked and picked up like two new boros and a few bits and pieces for the sxk Astro mods...most of my mods have been used for a while so Im bored..
It is really nice, they should've used a DNA 60 on that one...I see that 5A are doing Astro clones now too. They have a green one that looks pretty cool.
They should've but I'm not sure they ever include DNA 60 boards in their clones. I've got a few of their devices and all have that same board that Ambition Mods uses. 60W, font looks like a DNA etc.It is really nice, they should've used a DNA 60 on that one...
I purchased the DNA versions of the Astro mod. Its $149.00 for DNA version. I regret it because I like the looks and quality of the Stubby...They should've but I'm not sure they ever include DNA 60 boards in their clones. I have one in the cart waiting for some $$$ to fund new projects..I came close to buying one of the aluminium silver and black DNA Astros.
Did you get one of the unbranded Aluminium DNA versions or the SXK 3D print?
You might be able to pick up a cheap(er) Stubby when the Xray version floods in
I like it alot. How does it feel in the hand?I customised the Tauren mech/mosfet boro mod. It looked ugly and boring out of the box.

True! Or the Barber Pole limited edition.@Pigs, Now you have the "Tauren Army Candy Cane" version...lol
The way you gave it the stressed desig⁶n is pretty cool. You have talent. Now I know who to send my mods to when needing a custom paint job. I could never get my spray paint to stick to the mods I've made attempts to customize in the past . If I had skills like yours I would definitely try a camouflage black, army green, and tan.
I appreciate the compliment but I am only a learner. I didn’t use any paint in this process, just sandpaper and acid, plus a little salt, with a light coat of clear polyester at the end.The way you gave it the stressed desig⁶n is pretty cool. Wow Reo modz is still around? Thats impressive! His mods played a big part in the evolution of wood mods. squonkers, pdib, puzzle box, etcI appreciate the compliment but I am only a learner. One thing I have discovered is that whatever you try on stainless steel, make sure you break the surface with some type of sanding or scratching before you try changing the look.
My next project will be to do something with aluminium. That might include some type of painting. I love the way REOs mods got their hammertone and silvervein finishes on aluminium. They are my favourite looking mods so I might try and work in that direction.
Looks cool. This is a little something I put together. A make over. I'm still playing around with parts to see what else I can put together...View attachment 998591View attachment 998592View attachment 998593
No unfortunately REO's closed down a couple of years ago. They had a closing down sale and I was lucky enough to pick up 3 different types, a P67, a Grand LP and a Mini 2.5 LP, plus a ton of spares and different doors. A great friend here also gave me a 2015 Woodvil in mint condition.Wow Reo modz is still around? Thats impressive!
