I'm semi envious, Pigs. Working from home can be bad.

I've even tried to pretend treating them like cigs, and would walk outside to vape. That lasted at least five minutes.:facepalm:
Yeah - my wife vapes like she was outside taking a quickie smoke break. She picks one up and takes a dozen drags or more one after another. I take a drag and put it down. I set all hers up with TC, mine are mostly in power mode.

Now I'm sitting here with a couple of BB screens in a nice shiny box. I spent some time last night watching the small number of videos that are available.

The best video in terms of picture quality was recorded at multiple times actual speed, with music and no voice. Fun, but not too helpful really.

Most of them were using authentic BB's, only one was an SXK. Mine are SXK. The authentic videos all showed the screen being glued in place with a spot of superglue. The SXK video didn't mention glue and didn't show the screen being glued in. It just seemed to be held in place by a flexible gasket and a cover panel.

Anyone know whether the SXK needs glue? Other than that it looked quite simple and I'm itching to get started.

I don't think they use glue on any billet box, be it original or clone.
But if you feel that the screen is very wobbly, you can use double-sided tape of as thin a type as you can get hold of.

My old SXK BB had the screen fastened down somehow. I didn't need to change it so I'm not sure.
What I do remember was to reinsert the screen cable, with the ZIF socket open, and the screen cable end to be reinserted, I used the sharp end of my tweezers (in that hole on the screen cable) to pull it through straight. And you'll hear a click when you put the ZIF connector flap down.

I use a little square of double-sided tape. As Tor said you don't have to but it can make it a little easier.
There's no difference at all in approach to changing screens in authentic or clone.

All's well folks. I got the new screen installed in my SXK BB. A little fussy getting it put back together but I'm sure it would go a lot smoother next time.

I noticed there was no glue under the screen. It was just loose in its cutout. I had superglue and two sided tape ready but didn't use it.

All the videos and comments I saw mentioned a clip on the screen cable socket that had to be popped open then pushed back down. There wasn't anything like that on mine. I just pushed the end of the ribbon into the opening and that was it.

There was quite a lot of juice on the old screen which maybe explains why it failed. I cleaned up as much as I could. Looked like there was some juice on the inside of the frame, at the bottom of the mod. Cleaned up as much as I could get to with a Q-tip. There may have been some on the back of the main board. I tried to lift the board up to where I could get to the area underneath, but it didn't want to come out that far and I didn't want to break anything. Should it be possible to move the DNA board out without breaking soldered joints? It looked very crowded under there.

I haven't had any leaking at all with my new KF insert. The Xetas I was using since I got the BB's leaked a lot. Battery too low, juice level too high or too low, wick not quite right, didn't fire it up for a few days. There were a lot of ways to make it leak. The KF seems bulletproof, and it's a great vape as well. If you are an MTL vaper anyway. I'm going to order a couple more. The KF was a tip from @Pigs, much appreciated.

Oh there is a latch on a hinge. Could you forcefully insert it with the latched close? Yes, but you can damage the flex cable that way. Here at the timestamp of this video you can see him moving the hinged latch. Too bad he doesn't show inserting the flex cable and latching it on camera though. Well just FYI if there is a next time. ;)

You dont want to glue the screen into the frame. Yes you can pull the DNA up, out of frame (lower section - by screen connection). The Clone is tight due to the xtra USB (5) wires from bottom of board. You should be able to pull the DNA up far enough & push screen back towards DNA & change screen. Reverse to install - no soldering required for screen change.

Arrow from left is the connector. Arrow that says up, connector opens from that side - straight up.

I did see another video that showed the latch being lifted and put back down. I poked around for a while looking for it and couldn't see it. Even used the magnifiers. If I need to replace another screen I'll be more persistent until I figure it out. The screen cable did go in though. I lifted the bottom end of the DNA far enough to where I could get a good shot at it. Guess I got lucky.

@Pigs, you asked about a good mtl atty for the boro. I dont vape mtl much but sometimes I like a restricted dlh. I really enjoy the oldschool steam tuners insider. Its a little tricky to build but if done correctly you will experience good flavor and vapor production...I hate mtl builds that make the eliquid taste bland.

Pigs, I am making a few DNA60 dongles. Will let you know how it works out in a week.
Will be very keen to see how you go @crss

Thanks Bad. I have an early clone of the insider. It's ok but to be honest, nothing beats the Kayfun BB for me. Such a great design.
I left one sitting in a full boro tank on my desk for about 3 weeks and not a drop of leakage - loaded it up and it vaped like a freshly wicked atty.

No you should be fine with 3fvape. Tracking is sometimes weird. But many of us order from them routinely. :D

My recent 3F order took 5 weeks to arrive and that was in the middle of the Christmas rush. According to the tracking 3 weeks of that time was spent in US Customs. Most of the 17Track updates arrived 3 to 5 days after the event they were reporting, and I never got any updates from USPS. So the order went really well but the tracking was a little erratic. Don't think you need to worry yet.

3F has always been good to me in the past. 2F had been too, but this was a weird one. I finally received an email this morning, but not from Doris/Jamie. I explained that I had found it somewhere else, and had ordered it from there.

It's a new company for me though, named ShareAVape. I emailed them and got multiple/quick responses, then checked their social media pages, all of which remain very active. Fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly. If not, I'll have my CC reverse it, then try again with 2F.

@crss had sent some helpful info about their "2F Wallet", which they reiterated in their email this morning. At least I know not to bother with a CC, if it comes to that.

The things we do for vape (someone should write a song ;) ).

Got my 3fvape order yesterday, so only took 2 weeks, but tracking never worked, always said not found, but came pretty quick though.

See a few things would order from ShareAVape if @DPLongo22 order goes well, need some boro tanks, as got 2 of the KF boro's from 3fvape. Didn't realize I didn't have any standard boro tanks, but lucikly the KF fitted fine in the Ether tank I already had.

Seconded. No pressure @DPLongo22 or anything!

    Hey Ange! :)

For the curious, the package is in NYC already (a stone's throw away). I'm guessing it will arrive sometime soon. Once I open it and verify that everything is as it should be, I'll post it up (even if it's bad news, which I'm not expecting).

I did receive a notice that something is arriving today, that I can't reconcile to any orders, so it might be this package (with a different and "odd" tracking number).

    :pop:

They moved quickly, which surprised me a bit. NO complaints about THAT (obviously). :thumb:

Well, I'm somewhat baffled now. Ordered a couple more KF's for the BB on 1/7. Yesterday the 3F site just showed Payment Accepted. Today it said Shipped and I saw the first update on 17Track.

The last one I ordered went by China Post to LA, sat in Customs for 3 weeks, then appeared in my mailbox without a word from USPS tracking. It moved pretty fast from wherever it started in China to US Customs, but not that fast, and there were numerous China Post tracking updates along the way. Unless 3F are shipping them on a hypersonic jet direct from their factory to Illinois and bypassing Customs, it sort of looks like they might have originated in the US. Does 3F have a warehouse in the US?
