I was asked by my boss what it was that I was actually smoking when she saw my kit....lol I guess when you look at my green Silver Bullet and funky drip tip, one could assume that I'm puffing on something other than nico...
I had this same conversation with my boss a couple years ago when I first tried the e-cig.
If a boss is going to have an issue with vaping, then they need to push people who breath their stank breath outside into a designated "beathing area". vaping is nothing more than breathing, it just shows up differently because of the atmospheric difference between vaping and breathing. No different than seeing your breath on a cold day. I showed my boss that if I hold it in a little longer, the inhaled "flavor" will adjust to my body temperature, and the vapor doesn't appear when I exhale.

This is a tough situation and highly dependent upon your direct co-workers and boss. I have a friend who started vaping in front of his boss, and after explaining to her what it was, she turned out to be okay with it. I do understand the views of the others though...the unknown.
I've been approached many times while vaping publically,,,,,If it's a curious stranger I turn them on to e-cigs but if it's in a store or restaruant and it seems they're going to complain then I tell them it's my asthma inhaler..I usually receive an appology,
Blow it in his face (with his permission lol) with a nice blueberry or banana flavor 
Several of my work sites did this.
I politely pointed out that vaping is more akin to wearing perfume or cologne than smoking and that implementing a policy requiring non-smokers to expose ourselves to second hand tobacco smoke is a major health and safety concern that runs contrary to the spirit of the numerous policies and regulations designed to protect employees from second hand smoke exposure.
So far they've all agreed and they've all rescinded any requirements that vapers remain in designated smoking areas. Most still ban vaping indoors and only allow it during breaks but at least they recognize the difference and don't try to corral us with the smokers.
My main worksite however went the extra mile and made one of the break rooms a "vaping area". The option to vape indoors or smoke outdoors has helped convert a couple dozen people to vaping there. And our Benefits Manager just yesterday forwarded an email from our insurance company praising us for the "outstanding efficacy of [our] smoking cessation efforts" as our Quarterly survey in April showed we had more people report they'd quit in this last quarter than any other company in the network has achieved in the past year.
My boss smokes in the office. It is kinda the other way around for me. I can't stand when he walks by my area puffing on his cigarette.

Well, the cat is out of the bag for sure! Does or did you boss smoke? Perhaps if you talked to the person athat complained and discussed vaping with him, at least his concerns can be addressed. At my work they know about my vaping and have no problems (yet). The best thing you can do is be honest and up front with everyone at work including yourself. Don't try to convert everyone to your side, discuss any questions they have. However the decision goes, accept it and go forward. If you had approaced colleagues at work at the onset of your vaping things would have been different for sure. Be glad that you no longer use analogs! Just click your shoes together while vaping and say "There's no place like home."

So final word for the subscribers is "Not allowed inside anymore". Problem is I can't keep the same level of nicotine as cigarettes not vaping all day......
If I was blunt I would have said "Ok, guess I will go back to smoking cigarettes with all the toxins since a guy thinks a fog machine is going to kill him."
That sucks... I know me, and I'd make a complete scene out of it. As soon as someone came in wearing perfume or smelling of B.O....I'd be in H.R.. I hate pulling the H.R. card, but in a case like this, I'd practically live in their office.
There's also the video of the cardiologist and his research interview from the Vapeteam. I THINK it's episode 25. Otherwise, you can vape into a coffe mug and say it's VERY hot... LOL!
I'm so sorry. We all know you are trying to do a Good thing for yourself. Take the high road. Keep giving them good information. In my house a "no" can become a "yes". Maybe your office will become like DedTV's, with a vaping room!! Good Luck!!
You can also blow the vapor in your shirt or into your sleeves, I do that in the movies... Haha
In todays job market, unless you are the best employee on the Planet and truly essential .. the best action is to comply with what the employer wants / expects .. after all, these are the folks that are paying you ..
Oh gosh! That is such a bummer. Read through this whole thread, was hoping for a happy ending.
What is your office set up like? Cubicles, private office? Do you work directly with the public? Just trying to understand the thinking behind a vape ban so long as you are respecting peoples personal space and not in client view.
For me, I just keep mine on me and take little puffs every now and then when I'm in the non-public parts of the building.
