Both new attys look the same

I just ordered 2 new attys, i got a replacement 510 for a friend and a boge 2.5 510. I cant tell the difference between the two. They both look almost exactly the same. One is just slightly more matte in color, and the one that is shinier has a tad bit wider bridge. I am thinking that the one with the slightly wider bridge is a 2.5 but i think its going to be hard to tell with the ohm difference so little.

Put a meter on them and that will show you the difference

I don't know if it's something common to all 510s but I did notice that on the bottom of the connecter portion of the atty, there are ID or part #'s engraved in small print. On my regular attys there are capitalized letters like BG, SLB, JSB, etc which identify the manufacturer. The LR attys, the number includes LR at the beginning. On my gold band style attys, LR is engraved on the band.

Maybe that'll help.

Yep i just noticed on the bottom on one of them it says BG100g

Does the BG mean its the boge?

Yeppers. BG = Boge.

Somewhere around the forums is a thread on what all the ID codes mean.

Oddly enough, thats the same code engraved on the bottom of the atty I'm using right now. Regular resistance 510 Boge atty.

Im still using the same atty i got with my first 510 kit and it still hits the best out of any atty ive used.
