Today I tried to screw in my bottom cap of the purple BP (that's the first "generation" of bottom caps with the on/off function) ... and all of a sudden I could turn & turn & turn again, nothing would happen. It took me quite a while to get it at least out again!

And thank God, I still had the full metal one of the former generation of bottom caps still here - the one without the on/off function so that now I can still use my purple BP.

Looking at it (the kaputt one), I realized that the black plastic device has gone loose ... but how can I fix that now? The other side of the screw seems to turn along with the screw when I try to tighten it.

Any ideas? As always: thanks in advance! :vapor:

Thanks for the advice, Mike ... I have one question (being a native German speaker w/English just being my 2nd language).

What does this mean? --> I understand the words, yet cannot make sense of them.

Mike meant tap it BACK in. Not bake

PS. The little nut can be a ..... to keep in place and get the screw tightened. I use hemostats to hold it.

Weird, does the red light even come on? the design is so simple. Do you have a multi meter ? If so measure resistance from top of spring to metal cap you should have a very low resistance . If not try to rebuild it again cause ya screwed up....LOL JK ..... sorry you are getting a new one so I assume you and Mike have been through all this.

K bye now

The small pin has to go through BOTH the delrin and metal parts or it will spin !!!!

I know. Mine broke off somehow. I wasn't forcing it or anything. I would kind of rather just have the metal one as i never use the on/off feature anyway.

I super glued mine back together and it doesn't work. I have tried it on both my og and pro and get nothing. It stays together fine but neither will fire with it.

There is a PIN in the metal part that goes into the plastic part to hold it in place when turning , this has come out of the hole in the metal part , try to tap it bake in then tighten it up .

Hmmm --- now I have the cap completely apart after my yesterday's try to just screw the parts together again. It worked fine, had no problem screwing the cap back in, the Buzz worked fine as well ... but when I wanted to unscrew the cap, it would again slide through, and I could only get the cap off by putting my fingernail gently between the plastic & the metal part. Thus I could loosen the connection again, eventually the metal part came off and with it the screw with the plastic part still being screwed in. However, I succeeded in getting it out as well. Now my cap is completely come undone into all its pieces.

I made a photo of the parts today, could you have a look if there might be a little thingy missing - or if these are all the parts which make up the cap, please?

and here with a bit different positions:

Especially the PIN bothers me? Where is it? What should it look like? Possibly this jumped out and went missing somewhere under the sofa?

Tomorrow is another vaper's meeting over here, and I have 2 overnight guests in my house ... one of them is a very handy guy with all sorts of tools & skills. I told him already to bring half his workshop (as I have more little things to do). :D Thanks for giving me the measurement... it'll be easier to find something appropriate if you know the exact size. :)
