Take a look at this..... https://www.fasttech.com/p/1394901 ...... Look along the left side to where it says "connection threading" this one clames it to be eGo/510.
If it comes in and it's not eGo threaded I'm going to uttering a few choice words.

I just wonder how this works. It doesn't look like my mini Sigelei Zmax. And what's the deal with that removable beauty ring? Very interesting... So they didn't just copy the Zmax--they did their own thing?

Well that may be in a couple of weeks. I just ordered it like two days ago. Sad thing is I'm getting my PT2 and batteries tomorrow.

Just off the visual comparison, they're pretty similar, but the Vamo has more parts to it-the "beauty ring" is removable and is about double the height-the threads are also slightly different, with the V3 being quite a bit longer and adding the second set of threads. ZMAX looks hot as hell, though... The SS Vamo isn't a looker, comparatively. Might just get that instead if I get too impatient.
One more question regarding the finish-does the black chrome on the Vamo just rub off, or does it actually wear in/stain? I'm actually quite partial to stained/worn-in black chrome from some other gear I have.
Oh yeah! I have my origional eGo chrome 950, and a USB Passthrough I can use it on. I got smart and ordered the eGo ring along with my PT2.
This V3 Vamo is very nice indeed. I love my ss Sgelei mini and I got for the dual threading--I have a bunch of eGo-threaded toppers and my mini ProVari has only 510 connection--and no variable power.
Get what you like, honestly. I like ss because I don't care for shiny and slippery mods. Some people complain that anodized aluminum tends to get scratched and dented eventually, but you can always get a wrap if that bothers you. I even know a guy who refinished his Vamo--he took same sandpaper to it and ended up with a bronze finish.
J-Wraps is a great place for wraps.

My PT2 arrived yesterday. Yes the eGo base ring came with it but it's chrome plated plastic. I ordered an all metal chrome plated one to come with it, and I'm glad I did. It just feels better, and threads up nicer.

I have yet to use mine. I wanted to wait till my Vamo came in. But that might not happen...LOL.
You will find two extra o-rings in the package when you open it. Yeah, I didn't know what they were for either. But again, all it took was to post a question to the folks here on the board to get the answer. They are extra base to tank seals. Evadently these things wear alot or get lost often.

The VAMO3 is dual 510/ego threaded. The removable beauty ring on top of the VAMO3 is to stop you from getting hit with the dreaded curse of the BCC tanks. You know when you accidentally unscrew the base of the BCC from the tank. LOL. When you thread a BCC, such as a EVOD onto the VAMO3 the base actually goes down inside the beauty ring. The base of the EVOD just barely shows above the beauty ring. You can remove the beauty ring to allow you to grasp hold of the base of the BCC saving yourself from the curse.

I guess the people at Vamo heard the same stories.
I love bcc tanks, especially the Kayfun style rba's. Just did a vertical Dragon build on the Russian, and am a very pleased vapor. Once you step up to a quality rba, a pt just gets dusty. lol.
