Hello,
I have now been vaping for over a year and regret nothing.
As of the last two months I have been really getting into a lot of new things.
I ordered my first mod (NESDNA 20(love it)) and received my first "atomizer" type anything.
I have always been a cartomizer guy. But I wanted a tank and the one time I did try a cartomizer tank it was awful and I was turned away from them.
Last week I ordered the Kanger Protank as a new experience. I absolutely love it! So much better then cartos.
I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for bottom coil tanks or anything else I should try in general :)
Thanks
Collin

The Protank or Protank II is about the best off the shelf tank I can think of. The EVOD and its Smok clone is also really good. I can't think of better suggestions off the top.

With a DNA20 device, get an ohm meter, a genesis type and some rebuilding supplies to get started down the rebuildable road you will never find your way back from lol.

Yeah Its amazing!
what are the differences between the 1 and 2?
I am looking at a phoenix RBA with some supplies :) cant wait!

the protank 2 as far as im aware has a slightly different base but still uses the same replacement heads and also has a removable drip tip. the evods are a really nice bottom coil tank but arent pyrex. and from the reviews the davide and mini davide are just as good/better than the protank but i havnt got around to trying one yet

Protank II can be completely disassembled, making for easier cleaning of and replacement of the pyrex tank. Also, the drip tip is now easily swapped out for your own favorite drip tip instead of being stuck with the fixed tip on the Protank I.

If you are vaping some heavy, thick juices or if you feel like you are having wicking problems in general, you can take apart the coil and remove a piece of that flavor wick that lies in there on top of the coil/wick. Removing a portion or all of that flavor wick will allow for better juice flow onto the coils and reduce or eliminate dry hits altogether. Just be careful that you don't remove too much wicking or remove any when you don't need to, because that will cause your coil to flood out and gurgle and leak through the post into your drip reservoir and make for an unhappy human.

See thats all fine and good, but I'm not too worried about the drip tip. It's still comfortable and looks nice but maybe if it vaped different i would look into buying the 2

One other thing: the overall draw on the Protank II has been tightened up. Watch pbusardo's review on the Protank II, Protank Mini, and Anyvape Davide.

This is good to know as I just bought a "1" and don't like it much at all. Worth dropping another $20 on the second version?

To the OP. You must be doing something wrong with your carto tanks. Maybe it is the brand of carto your are using or the tank. You may want to take a second look.

Protank 2. Airier than a carto tank, but it also depends on the mod. On a Provari, even with a Hippo air adjuster, the Protank II, is a tighter draw. Basically, because the two slots in the bottom are not next to the air holes in the, extension for the 510. They in the flat area around the connection. The slots should be next to the air holes So depending on the depth of the 510 connection, and the tightness of the threads, you can get a tighter draw.

On a Sigelei Zmax V3 Flat Top Telescope, the draw is more airy. The threads on the 510 connection are looser, the 510 connection is not a deep, and the Protank II sit a little above the mod. All allowing for an airy draw.

I have also found that the heavier the juice, the shorter time it takes to gunk up the wick on a Protank. It is a short little wick. My cartos last longer with heavier juice.

The air holes on the side of 510 connection, are smaller on a Protank II vs a Boge carto.

I use both carto tanks and Kanger Protank IIs. I have 4 carto tanks and 2 Protank IIs. I just use them with different juices and on different mods.

I have the protank 1 and 2.... the one is going on a shelf the 2 is so much better love that i can change the drip tip and the draw is tighter on the 2.
If thats the case, then I dont think id be interested in the 2 because I actually love the draw from the 1.

I actually just did that and its so much better :) thank you!

I will look into the puritank, looks like it would work the exact same as the pro but with changing drip tip. Any comments on the draw from the puritank?
