So, I started my vaping experience with cartos because all the atties I tried seemed to
have a metallic taste. ( I can't even use metallic drip tips because they seem to impart
a metallic taste to everything ) I like the Bauways better for taste but they seemed to
burn easier with thicker juices. I then moved on to Boge SR and LR but got tired of having
to keep the LR's wet. Along came DC and I liked them the best but again had to keep them
topped up for best flavor.

Then comes the Tanks, perfect solution right? They keep the carto wet and 3 to 5ml would
last most people all day. My first was a Liquinator with a Boge LR carto. It kept the carto
"juicy" but would leak sometimes going from a cool environment to a hot one. So I figure the
DC would work even better right? Welll... not exactly. Regardless of slots are punches, one or
two, big or small, the top of carto allways seemed to be dry. I am back to topping off at least
twice a day.

I had a thought a while back that the perfect carto for a tank would be one with a coil at the
bottom with just enough filler around it to pull in juice from the tank. ( not go all the way up
inside the carto, this would just seem to spead out or thin the juice around the coil )

I just saw a review for a tank where the reviewer mentioned using a bottom coil carto that
"was just made for a tank". Of course it was from a UK vendor who claimed to "create" this carto.
Did some more looking around and the prevailent "bottom coil carto" is a Kanger horizontal coil.
There is a favorable review for the UK carto, but most of the reviews for the Kanger are not good.
Most of the reviews said they had a muted taste and one review said there was a "funky" taste.

I have always been of the opinion that the carto is what makes or breaks a tank. As long as the tank
is reasonably well made ( sized ), then the carto is what makes it a good or bad tank.

Has anyone on here tried the Kanger in a tank, what did you think? What are your prefferences for
cartos in your tanks? I have seen mixed opinions on the "resurrector" cartos ( 1.7ohm XL cartos ),
what do you all think.

I've tried the Kanger horizontal coils in a tank. They work well and the coil does stay nice and wet

I found the vape on them to be similar to a CE2 (which I do enjoy occasionally) and they are definitely not as prone to burning as the axial coil style. To be honest, the only reason I didn't continue to use them was because they weren't well-suited to my vaping style. I've found I generally prefer higher voltage vaping of late and those (as with most horizontal coils) are better suited to closer to 3.7. So for me they were only suitable for a once in a while vape so I never re-stocked on them.

If you like those cartos, though, definitely throw one in a tank and try it out because they'll work just fine :)

I wouldn't call it "funky", but it is a little bit different from an axial coil carto, pretty much just the same kinda way that any type of carto tastes different from any other type. I thought they tasted pretty decent, actually.

I wish I could be more specific, but it was a few months ago that I used them

Just found these cartos from Nhaler. They are listed as horizontal coil and they are xl.
I posted a question in their forum about whether they would fit a std tank.
Don't want to order and find out they are fatter than a std 510 carto.

From what I understand those aren't good much past 3.7V. They're a copy of the 808D design Bloog cartos (which is why they're referred to as "MF" cartos), only with a 510 thread.

Ikenvape offers the IKV Gold 510 cartos that have a horizontal (bottom) coil. He lists the SR model as good to 4.8V, but I haven't personally tried them (still waiting on my VV): IKV Gold 510 Cartomizer - IkenVape Store
I
f they're anything like any of his other cartos, they're definitely worth a try. There's also a review on that page where it is claimed that they work up to 5.2V.

I use kanger xl cartos in my tanks now and I love it. I'm not having any issues with them.

Scott, I've been using Kangers for the past few months and love them. I would like to use one in my syringe tanks, but have been afraid of punching the needed hole because I don't know where the bottom coil is. Any tips on hole placement with these cartos?
