Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forums but have lurked pretty heavily the past few days checking out the different ideas for bottom feeder mods. I see that HP and Petercro have had pretty decent results with using the brass tube through the bottom of the battery connector method. I've seen some other mods that use nonmetallic tubing, and I've also seen some mods that use a needle/injector on the bottle that allow the entire bottle to be removed when you want to change juice rather than unscrewing...

I'm definitely going to building a juicer mod as soon as my shipment of connectors bottles and attys gets here, but i'm not sure which direction I want to go with feed.

I'd love if some experienced modders/gen3 users could weigh in on the pros and cons of these different systems. For example, I would expect that the needle injector bottle looks like it would make juice replacement simpler, but I suspect it would also be prone to internal leakage.

At this particular moment I'm leaning toward the brass tube design but I'm a little paranoid about tearing the isolator when jamming the tube and ground wire up the center hole as in HPs nicely written tutorial. Is there another less risky way to wire the brass tube mod?

Thanks in advance and I want to say I seriously thank Petercro, HP and all the guys that have posted about gen3 mods I learned a ton and was absolutely fascinated. I think I've been bitten hard by the mod bug!

Welcome aboard, and happy modding. One thing, you aren't jamming a brass tube and the ground wire through the center hole, the positive is soldered to the brass tube below the connector hole. The negative is typically attached to the outer part of the connector. There isn't a lot of difference between the needle/brass tube method, but brass solders better and can be any length you wish, but SS doesn't leech copper content into your juice.

Hi Asdaq, I guess I was a little tired when I posted because the ground wire is soldered to the outside of the connector body... The part I was concerned with is in HPs tutorial, where he reassembles the connector :

It seems like this is the part that would get me in trouble. Maybe I am just being a little paranoid, I'll have to see when the parts get here.

No worries. I would solder the negative before doing that assembly though, it is easier to solder to the outer part without the insulator in place. You want the positive w/ solder to not bulge out past the outer edge of that center post too, so as not to cause stress on the insulator
