I finished my bottom feeder box enough to vape it. It won't survive being run over by a Mack truck or win any beauty awards, unlike others posted here, but it did turn out light at a bit over 3oz (94gm). This is my first regulated bottom feeder and loving it. Don't know how long it will last but I'll keep vaping it and find out :)

Nice Ian and hey if the wood doesn't last you can always take the guts out and make another. Well done

I have been lurking on this thread. I am a wood butcher but I do admire good craftsmanship. Cpt Steve you have a gift. I am working on getting the courage up to try a basic box build. I have the tools and the wood but lack the experience. I have hundreds of softwood blanks so time to get after it. Thanks for the inspiration gentlemen.

buildawall go for it bro, if you don't attempt it you'll never know how good you are. Besides the result doesn't matter as long as you get a kick out of what you're doing buddy.

If it's not screwed together I'm kinda hesitant about it...but that's just me and this is a bit heavier device and these are smaller magnets, but personally I wasn't happy with only magnets holding my mod together, I've always just used screws. I've gotten used to throwing this guy around, dropping it, tossing it in the passenger seat etc.

Oh man that's a serious hunk of metal right there.

One modification I've been doing with various bottom feeders is use a stainless steel tube for the feed path.

The smaller tube diameter works well with the 9ml vapeage bottles or others with a narrow top for clean refills.

Eliminates bottle cap constriction on the Tyvex tubing and helps VG flow a little better when its cold.

Tech I ordered once from Fastech and they advertise free shipping but what they fail to mention is that it takes 3-4 weeks. I don't know if I'll order from these guys again

Pfft, FT...I pretty much gave up on them when a lot of their stuff started to appear on ebay, already on conus soil in the hands of US retailers...sure you pay a bit of a mark-up, but at least you'll get it...FT is too slow, I'd order stuff then actually forget about it (sometimes not even getting it?)...this day and age, 3-4 wks from China?...you could tie it to a float, chuck it in the Pacific and let the gyre do the rest faster, come on...

I usually avoid them like the plague, but am aware of the shipping time... Thanks for the heads-up though. ;) They dropped the price a few bucks since I posted, and I may pick one up as a BF project. I never heard of the authentic before this, so I will be removing logos.. (I very much dislike 1:1 counterfeits) A little Dremel time, and a few parts should turn this into a sweet BF'er.. :)

Yeah sure, if you don't mind the wait it certainly looks like an easy BF conversion candidate. In fact I really don't know why they call themselves Fastech because there's nothing fast about them, they should be called Slowtech

The shop is clean and ready to rock and roll. Now to figure out what I want to build. Thoughts on using softwood? I have so much beautiful redwood to butcher. Literally a lifetime of small boxes. I know this is not a how to thread so I will do some searching. Keep up the inspiring work everyone! Thanks for the push Cpt!
