I'm still here, been really tied up past few months. had to close my bodyshop and been dealing with a bunch of crap from all ends but I'm working on buttoning up a few more of my own mods in the next few weeks. been thinking long and hard about jumping into the vendor end of things but haven't decided anything yet...

Welcome back Turbo! I'm sure if you decide to enter the mod making world that you will come out with a stellar mod! Judging by what you are doing to my Woodvil you sir have some mad skills!!!!

It looks suspiciously like cultured marble which is usually marble dust and polyester. A good friend used to be in the business and from going to his shop and seeing the various stages of product it has to have a gel coat or it will never get shiny if indeed that is what it is. Will the seller not let you know the actual composition?
I asked but they just said it Acrylic!
I've got some spare and I'm going to send it to a mate who's a goldsmith and he works with other metals plus Acrylics and Corian.he's going to see what he can do with it,I'll keep you posted and thanks for all the advice.

Hi guys, does anyone know of a good enclosure for a dna200 bf mod with 2 18650? I was looking for the 3*18650 mods, bottle goes in the place of one of them but not sure where to put the dna.

I believe that you'll have difficulties running a DNA200 mod on 2-18650 batteries. From my understanding the 200 has a 9v cutoff and 2-18650s fully charged will only provide 8.4v. I'm working on a 200 mod that will have 3-18650s and a squonk bottle. It will be 11.1v with a 2500 mah battery and a 35c continuous power. I'm still sketching it out but hope to start on a prototype very soon. I've been so excited about the project that I couldn't sleep at all last nite. The ideas just keep popping into my head and I have to follow them through.

You can set the DNA200 to run on 2 cells. It is limited to 133Watts. This is set in software using Escribe and requires connecting pins 3 and 4? on the balance connector. The three cell limitation was only present on the earliest software versions.

Nice, I guess I need to get into the Escribe software and see what's changed. That's good info thanks.

I don't think the fd v4 connection is great. 60 watts doesn't seem quite like it should. Haven't measured output

Question for the pro's, I would like to attemp to build my own mod and need some insight...what would be a good adhesive to use for wood, metal and Plexiglas? Also what would be the best solder to use for copper and stainless? If anyone can help me with info on what materials to use please feel free to pm...thanks

Unfortunately there really aren't any one size fits all solutions when it comes to glues, though I guess if I had to pick one "desert island" glue, I'd go with JB Weld clear. It'll stick almost anything together once cured.

As far as solder goes, lead free rosin core will cover almost every need you'll have...but...soldering stainless steel can be very difficult and requires a lot more heat than your average iron can provide. Special fluxes help and you'll need silver solder. Most guys (myself included) try to avoid soldering SS.

This is an over simplification, but if you're just starting out, JB Weld and lead free rosin core will get you a long way.

Howsit Guys, those of you who make wooden mods and bond magnets in them, what adhesive do you use.I find epoxy a bit messy for this and prefer CA glue.I've tried most of whats available here in SA,with and without an accelerator and most if not all are useless! want to get some from your side and would appreciate some recommendations on brands.Thanks.
