My generic tube mod broke last night, the bottom firing pin fell off (it was glued, base to contact) so I got desperate and started thinking....

Melted plastic to replicate a hot glue? Fail (note: I live outside so I have close to nothing to use)

Stuff paper as fillers? Fail

Then I found a screw that almost fits to the bottom firing pin, spring doesn't fit, tried clippers to nip off some threads, failed again.

Then I saw my Engrave-it-as-seen-on-tv hand engraver, two AA powered, tungsten carbide impregnated tip, so I started grinding off the threads part by part, after about one and a quarter hour of total work time, threads fit. The firing base has not threads tho, plus removed all threads and coating on the screw. Had to put the batteries in reverse, flat side is just enough to fire when I push it all the way down. removed battery spring. Now it hits like a champ, contacts are much much better, and that being said I feel like a champ too.

Just sharing :) coz I'm so happy

By the bye, I forgot, any recommended cheap mods? I rather tight on budget right now. Would be nice to have an adjustable positive contact, and full stainless. Been looking at the DS mod a.k.a. DTS mod - drawtube smart mod by Beauticig, China made, heard good reviews on it. And here it costs around 17USD, MIght be buying a Nimbus clone @ 10USD each.
