The K100 has ego threading.. The well is too small in diameter for most ego items though...

Agreed. Bad made me go look: I just got an eGo threaded Aspire BCC in a K100+ but it ain't easy. I almost didn't get it back out. It is a tight fit, however they are eGo threaded.

Also, look at using a Kick with your K100. Really wakes it up and provides protection.
I use a kick in my mechanical mods. I'm still new to mechanical mods, so I appreciate the added safety: it acts as a fuse in the case of a short, it cuts off if the battery gets too low. I can have the aesthetic of the mechanical with the control of the variable wattage. It's not what everyone wants, but I rather like it. :)

So I've been vaping for about a month now on a basic setup (eGo-twist with Kaniger T3S). Recently I bought a K100 to start getting into modding. I figured the mech mods would be the best idea to go with. So I went to fill the atomizer but even after 15-20 drips, the wick looks dry after a hit and will taste absolutely miserable. Now I'm not the most knowledgable about this so if anyone wants to offer any advice please do.

My point was it was obvious he was having a problem with his cartomizer, and the first few responses had nothing to do with the cartomizer.

Okay, the only post that was available says nothing about a "cartomize". Sure, could of assumed it was a carto, but the obvious thing to me was that the OP didn't know what he had or how to use it. from this first post the only thing that he specified was an atomizer and a K100 mech mod. With out knowing what the atomizer was, their was no way that anyone could respond with any valid advise, hence my questions. So you are giving me a hard time because I asked questions that anyone using a mech mod should know??!!!! Really??? I read his post 10 times again, wick looks dry, well could of been a dripper, a rba, a bcc, all I could tell for sure was that the op was clueless.

Didn't mean to start a fight. I just mislabeled a part. Sorry about that. I've got it all sorted out now so everything is fine.

I have to tell you Cody, that I have spent a RIDICULOUS amount of money trying all kinds of vaping stuff but one thing that remains one of my favorite devices is my K100 with an IGO-W on top of it. The K100 is a solid device!

Probably gonna get an atomizer when I can find someone that can adequately help me build one so I don't blow myself up haha. Until then, I'll stick to a tank.

Also, is that little drop in that comes with it the Kick? I've read a little about it but this looks a lot different compared to the ones online. I mean, it doesn't have anything to adjust voltage so I'm assuming its preset at one value?

What drop in are you referring to? Here is a pic of a Kick 2 by Evolve. This device will effectively make your mechanical mod behave similar to a regulated mod. It is adjustable via the phillips head in the center of the blue square. The kick 1 is adjustable up to 10w and the kick 2 to 15w. Here is an advantage to the Neme. IF you are using a kick AND you need to change the previously set wattage, then you are much better off with a Neme than with a K100... in that specific circumstance. The kick has to go face up on top of your battery. This means that in the K100, you will have to very gently use a pair of pliers to pull it out of the tube for adjustment. With the Neme, all you have to do is unscrew the topmost piece for adjustment.

Only because nobody has yet mentioned it, if you want to continue using cartos, try the condom fill method for priming them. I've found it to work the best for me with no mess, no hassle, and not much guesswork. Take the silicone condom (tube looking thing) that came on the new carto, fill it about half full of liquid, and slowly(!) insert the carto threaded end first into the half full condom. Pull the carto back out, and repeat with about a quarter full condom this time. Pop the mouthpiece out and check to make sure its saturated, if it looks a tad dry, top it off with a few more drops of liquid. And then follow the rest of Baditudes suggestions!

And if you want to try something with a small learning curve that yields some great results, invest in a carto tank like the standard j-tank. It's inexpensive, solid, and easy to use. I've used my various carto tanks and a few different clearomizers on my k100 and other mechs, and I always go back to the carto tanks for the better flavor and vapor. There's plenty of threads on ECF with tutorials on carto tanks, and Baditude has some great write-ups as well.

This is what I was referring to. Is it worth having it in or not really? I'm basically using this thread as a crash course in vaping 101 (beats having 1000's of new threads because I'm a noob).

It's a fuse to stop current flow if you have a short. Found the same one here. Yes, it's very worth using. It's magnetic and will stick to the battery. They say to put it on the positive or negative terminal of the battery. In the K100 I would use it on the positive end and put that end in first always.
