i bought a vape and stopped smoking. But then bought a pack last night for the first time in a week. I only smoke about 4 cigs a day now, compared to half a pack to a pack a day.I started off doing no nicotine but bought nicotine juice yesterday. I want to make the switch but I'm just worried about the nicotine and my heart and stop because heart disease runs in my family. I have 3 mg of nicotine on a aspire cleito tank. Was told if I smoke a tank a day it's equal to a half pack of cigs. The tank holds 3.5 ml of juice. I'm just worried cause I hit my vape a lot. Just want to be healthy and be able to breathe again. Please inform me On vaping more and more info. Also, what is the ohm? What does that mean and how do you change it mine is on .21

Cigarettes contain anywhere from 8 mg ofnicotine up to 20 mg of nicotine. Mostcigarettes are at the lower end of the spectrum, which puts the average amount onnicotine in one cigarette at 12 mg. While the total amount of nicotine in a cigarette may vary, the amount that you actually absorb is relatively constant
How Much Nicotine Is In One Cigarette?
at one tank per day in the cleito you should be vaping about 9-12mg versus 20-40mg from just 5 cigs(the range is so large because idk what cigs you used to smoke)

So you were a light smoker so may be getting rid of them won't be so tough as it was for some of us. Hopefully someone who has the links on nicotine safety issues will post them here so you can do some reading and decide for yourself.

I will say only what I believe. I believe nicotine is reletively harmless, about the same as caffine. If anything I worry more about too many ml's of liquid per day being irritating more than I worry about nic. There is even some evidence that's convincing to me that nic can be medicinal, beneficial.

So hang around in the forum and read conversations and ask questions. It's satisfying to help smokers get free of cigarettes.

Whoever told you vaping 3.5ml of 3mg nic juice is the same as a half pack of cigs is overshooting it a bit. As anything in life of course there are risks with anything you eat, drink, inhale, etc. But at that low of a dosage of nicotine I would say as long as its stopping you from smoking cigs then keep on. Whether or not you want to continue on the nic juice is up to you but I would be confident in telling you that you are safe vaping at that rate.

As far as the Ohms... ohms are basically the resistance of the atomizer (the coil that changes the juice to vapor). The lower the ohms then more wattage (power) it requires. As a new vaper it can be tricky trying to understand how vaping works. Do you prefer to vape mouth to lung (filling your mouth with vapor then inhaling) or do you prefer to lung inhale (breathing the vapor in as you suck on the device)? If you prefer to MTL then I would recommend going with a much higher Ohm coil. Somewhere around 1.5-2 ohms. If you prefer to lung inhale then anything between 0.2 to 0.8 ohms should be ok.

What device are you using and what tank are you using?

Thank you! I'm using a aspire cleito tank, with a rx200. Any idea how to change the ohm? I fill my mouth with the vapor then inhale.
Great mod (i own one) but if you mouth to lung that is definately not the tank for you, i would recomend the aspire nautilus and or the aspire triton mini for MTL vaping.
btw you need a diff coil/wire to change the resistance as you cannot change the ohms.

Aspire Cleito has a .2ohm as well as .4ohm coil included in the package, you can swap that over if you want to. Also, you can buy extra coils later (I would suggest trying using both coils so you will know which one to purchase next time).

Main difference of cigarettes to vape is the amount of other chemicals other than nicotine.

But if you're really worried about nicotine, I would recommend using less than 3mg ... if you mix your 3mg juice to a 0mg juice (say both are 30 ml) ... you'll end up with 60 ml of 1.5mg nic juice.

By the way. hi and welcome!

Vaping is better than smoking, pretty much hands down, because you don't get the tars. I wouldn't worry about getting too much nic; you'll be nic sick if you do, and it's miserable, you can't fail to notice. I take BP pills every day, and I vape 3mg juice all the live-long day. And the only way to change you ohms is to change the coil in the tank.
