Hey all,

I recently picked up an ego one as my introduction back into vaping after being away from it for a few years. My last kit was a Janty Ego-T.

Talk about technology improving! The ego one kicks ..... I picked up a subtank nano to play with as I can never stop tinkering. So far, I am really liking the "sub ohm" vaping. The .5ohm coils on the ego tank and the subtank, however, are a bit too harsh for me. I love the vapor productions, but the vape is very hot and hits pretty rough with some liquid. I have been enjoying the 1 ohm and 1.2 ohm coils better. This has made me start thinking what it would be like to have a box mod that was able of handling a range of resistances for me to try and dial in on what vape I like best.

I am a newb, so I'm not at all sure where to start or exactly what I need to be cautious of. I poked around the forum some, and found some good information, but I dont see any stickies that cover all of the basics that I am looking for.

Okay well what are you specifically looking for?

There are simple Box mods like the iStick 50w, 50 watts of power, USB passthrough charging and Internal Batts.

Or something like a Segelei or iPV, many different models and wattages, Some with Dual 18650's which you will need a good charger and quality Authentic batts as well as a good time reading up on Li Ion Battery safety.

the regulated box Mods have come so far even in the year I've been vaping. I don't think you will find one that won't fit most or all of your needs. I personally have a Segelei 100W box and an Istick 30W and an Istick 50W. I hardly ever use the 100w box except for my plume veil dripper. I think the 70W you are looking at would make you very happy in whatever you wish to do with it.

WOW. I'm sorry guys... I'm starting to understand a little more and more with ever post I read.

iPV Mini II - 70W should do everything I want it to do and then some. Is it recommended to charge the 18650 batteries outside of the mod rather than using the included charging port?

I think it's generally considered better to use an external charger, at least for battery preservation, although I have some single battery mods with a USB charge port that I sometimes use to charge the battery. In general, external chargers will have better protection for battery health, such as charge cut-off when the battery is fully charged. For dual battery devices, definitely use an external charger, as the batteries will charge/discharge at different rates in the device.

I have an IPV Mini 2 and really like it. It's has a relatively small form factor and fits good in my hand. One suggestion, though - get a wrap or skin for it, as the finish seems to scratch easily.
