box mods and dual coil cartomizers

Just 3 quick questions:

What is the benefit of having a box mod? Is it just cheaper?

And what does a dual coil cartomizer do? Is it stronger than a LR cartomizer?

Trying to decide between a Riva 510 carto kit or a e-Power carto kit... which would you recommend?

A box mod, in most cases, holds a removable and rechargable battery. There are a wide variety of designs and functions so it would be hard to classify which would be the best purchase for you. Eg.. Reo mods are beautiful, durable, fully mechanical and bottom feed but are not exactly inexpensive. Monkey Box mods are gorgeous and can be vari volt, some box mods are just that.. boxes to hold the components and batteries.

A dual core cartomizer is designed to take a 3.7 volt ecig and give you the same effects as a 5v ecig. Use caution when purchasing a dcc to make sure that it is compatible with your ecig. Some disposable or semi disposable ecigs are not strong enough to use them and it can kill your battery.

Re: Riva and e-Power couldn't say as I've not tried e-Power.

My suggestion - decide what's important to you - aesthetics (must it look like an ecig?), battery life (if you are a somewhat heavy smoker this is important for you), versatility (can you use different vendor supplies for your ecig) and budget. Keep an open mind, look at all kinds of ecigs and mods and make a choice. Whatever the choice is that you make is better than smoking so just jump in and get started.

A box mod is a PV that is shaped more or less like a box. They come with a variety of options. They can be 3.7V, 5V or VV. They can be bottom feeders or not. They can be inexpensive or cost over $100.00.

A Dual coil carto will give more vapor by using two coils. It's like vaping from two cartos at the same time. IMO, they really shine at voltages above 4V. I like the 1.5ohm DCC at 5V, for example. At 3.7V I prefer a LR single coil.

Both the Riva and the ePower are good kits and choosing between them is a matter of personal preference. They both are true 3.7V devices that come off the charger at 4.2V. The batteries that come with the ePower 14650 are less expensive than the Riva batteries and I have heard that they last longer. The only downside I see with the ePower is the fact that the cone threads are larger than the eGo cone threads. If you're using any of the eGo type cartos you would need to get an adapter.
