my new boxer 18650 mech arrived yesterday. i liked everything about it but the button. i knew going in a number of people had issues with the button and i figured i could probably come up with a solution, and besides it was on sale.

the problem i had was i had to push the button quite hard and only from the top. with the back off i noticed when you push the button it pushed the bottle which then pushed the battery a little. i tried it with the back off and it worked great. the back would not let the battery move.

i noticed the back had two little nubs thad kept the battery bottom from moving. i thought, hmmm, dremel time. i removed the nubs , with a little slippage, in about a minute.

it now works great with less than half the pressure and any finger placement.

i'll post those pics separately because i don't know how to put them between paragraphs.

Interesting. I always thought the colored Boxer mods were molded in color and not white mods painted in various colors - like the clones. Your mod appears to be a white mod painted blue, like a clone.
The blue is colorfast & durable. Mine's over 2.5 years old now.

The orange & the black...not so much. They seem more like dyed fabric.
I Kiwi shoe polish the black ones every few months.
The orange is pretty faded but a mechanic previously owned it and I had to scrub out the grunge with Dawn & GoJo.

They still look pretty good :)

I was just surprised to find out that the authentic Boxers were printed in white and then dyed/colored.

My blue Hugo is blue all the way through, though it's molded - not printed.

On a review/infomercial Jay Haze scratched a Rebel mod with a knife deep enough to show that the black Rebel is printed using colored material. I have 5 Boxers because I bought them used so the price was right. If I were to buy one new I'd get an SX350j Rebel. I still love my Boxers but it would be nice if the black and orange were colorfast.

OTOH I asked Rebel Mods' company if the green or red were as colorfast as the black and they replied no but they were working on it. Those colors are problematic. I didn't ask about their other colors because I was only interested in green & red.
Asking questions before buying is critical.
