Either way you slice it, even if you use 10 cartos a day, you're still spending less or breaking even money-wise. Initially, the investment in all these gadgets, batteries, chargers, niquids etc. can be overwhelming and a turn-off, but after you find a groove/routine the monthly price goes down. That's an argument that I would use to persuade your mom. I'm going through the same struggle with my own dad!

Thanks all! I think more pieces of the puzzle are starting to fit together now. The more I comparisons I did, the more confused I became. I am trying to look and compare all of the suggestions. Cignot seems easy to me because it tells what type of battery it is and I guess that is really what I am trying to decide first, correct? VaporKing and Vape4Life starter kits do not mention the battery, so how do you know what cartos to buy? Are all of tehir starter kits K808 batteries?

Liberty Flights site is so far very informative. Still learning.

I think I can drive myself nuts here, every time I think I have it figured out, I learn more.

The eGo is going to be a definite for my mom. Longer battery life and ease of use.

I see that an eGo passthrough kit that seems versatile to try out the different ways of vaping. I am going to try this out first so I can figure out what I like best.

Thank you for all the information and support. I just have to leap in now.

To me, the biggest factor vaping is the juce. Doesn't matter how great the kit is if the juice tastes terrible. Instead of getting your mom a pass-through, just get her a 1000 mah battery instead. That thing will last over a day.

Go read the reviews section and order some samples from juice vendors.

V4L, Volt, etc. are KR808. They're good small battery kits. But if your leaning towards an ego, I'd get a 510 if you want to start small then go big. Carts and things are interchangeable. If you go with a KR808 and change, you'll need different cartos or an adaptor to use the KR808 cartos.

Very helpful, thank you. Another question, why are the drip tips used with the cartomizer? I thought that they were only used in conjunction with an atomizer?

It moves your lips farther away from the coil in the carto so it's a bit cooler. Plus some people prefer the contour of a drip tip to the plain circular end of a carto. Functionally, it serves no purpose. (though some people do drip with certain types of cartos, essentially using them like atomizers)

I do it because it's a pain in the .... to try to pop the little end caps off if you don't have a binder clip handy. Just pull off the drip tip, drop some juice in the carto.

I also like SS cartos when I can find them, and they get a little hot.

Yes, they do ship quickly.

Get what you can all at the same place at first (not the juice though!) and you can shop price after this.

Crystal Clear Vaping has a deal on cartomizers (15 for $20) plus free shipping and they throw in 2 drip tips.
Joogler also has a deal on cartomizers and you get a free small bottle of juice.

Very intrigued by the NoEgo too - down the road - terminology overload.

I have the e-power (similar to noego) and I really like it, but I suggest sticking with an ego first. Save your pennies and decide on a mod two or three months down the road. If you go with a mod first, you only have one unit and if any thing happens you're down until you get it fixed. If you go with a two battery kit, you have a backup in case of premature failure on one unit. Later, add the mod and your ego is back up. Make sense?

Yes, makes perfect sense! I did order 2 of the Rivas. Got juice ordered from Tasty Vapor. I have no doubt that I will love the atomic cynacide, so I ordered a high nic bottle and doubler. I am also going to get a sample kit from VR or try a couple from BWB. Just can't wait to get started! Don't want to have to buy expensive refills for the Njoy. Thanks again for all the help, links, and suggestions!

If you plan on using something like atomic cynacide, you might want to keep an atty just for that juice. Or use a cartomizer. It's almost impossible to get out of an atty.

Thanks again for all the help! I got my Rivas - one for me and one for my mom. I made a mistake of not ordering any e-juice from LF, so I got my Riva a day before I got my juices from other vendors. I smoked 2 analogs that day because of it, but those are the only 2 analogs I have had in 10 days. I love this PV. It is sooooo much better than the NJOY.

It seems so complicated at first, but it really isn't. I made a couple of mistakes. Love all the juice, but one I got a large bottle of, 0 nic flavor, so it didn't cost much, but I learned that lesson.

Also, I got impatient, I had 10 different flavors to try and 10 cartomziers. The first several I filled nice and slow using the condom method. Actually the 1st one, I forgot to pop out the plastic pin thing on the long condom side and when I tried to fill, all the juice came up and out the side instead, wasting my juice.

The last 2 I filled, I tried to just drip fill instead, big mistake. I thought they were the nastiest flavors ever, until I learned that I burned and completely damaged my cartos by not having enough juice.

What I love is:

The taste is so much better than analogs, I don't stink anymore!

I can do this anywhere.

We had company this holiday weekend and with drinking, when I am normally a chain smoker, I was happy as could be with my PV. Everybody that smoked wanted to try it, and liked it! I have forwarded info to 2 people who are trying to quit.

I got my mom set up, prefilled the cartos with flavors she liked best. She was impressed so I think she will want to convert completely.

I got juice from Tasty Vapor and Vermillion River. LOVE TV Tasty Finger, TV Cinnicide, VR Applewood, VR Cherrywood, VR Caramelized Cappuccino. Found that I do not enjoy the fruity flavors as much, which surprised me because I thought those would be the ones I love.

Hopefully this info can help someone else who is new.

I do have a couple questions for the pros:

How long does your BOGE 2.0 cartomizer last? Do you keep several filled and swap out depending on your mood? That is what I have done, but I get a bit confused which cartomizer goes to which flavor for ones that are similar. Will 5 of them realistically last me a month alternating? Just want to know so I can keep supplies on hand.

How long should I expect the battery to last?

I tried the atomizer with separate cartridge and don't like it as much. Not sure if it should be much different. Maybe I really just don't like the juice flavor. For those that don't use the cartomizer, what do you prefer about using the atomizer with separate cartridge? I don't see what the benefit is, just more pieces to fiddle around with as far as I can tell.
