so i have been smoking since i was 14, now almost 24! i quit during both of my pregnancies but started almost immediately after!
when i can afford marbs i can smoke a pack of 27s a day or more but try to keep it around 7 cigs a day, or when i'm broke which is more often i roll filter less bugler which is harder to keep track of but it comes to about a pack and a half a day.
my husband really wants me to quit, but i LIKE smoking!! so i figured this was a good cancer free compromise!!
i'm just soo lost in everything!! i've been reading the forum posts by other newbs, but there is soo much info!

So tell me what to buy. lol. i want to spend as little money as possible!! go ahead, tell me what to do!!

if i buy a starter kit and juices and stuff, how long will that last me before i need to buy more stuff???
i'm considering the KR808?? that seems to be pretty popular here...

And most popular starting models here (and MANUAL batteries for all, not auto)

Joye 510 - 180mah or about 2-3 hour battery charge for a light-medium vaper, 1/2 that for heavy vaper
Joye 510 w/ mega xl batteries - 280mah (60% more charge) and long - 128mm w/ carto, longer w/ cart+atty
KR808D-1 also sold at Vapor4Life.com - standard battery 280mah and 120mm long w/ a carto

And for hard draggers, heavy smokers, and those who need long battery life - the fat battery models
Joye Ego or Riva 510 for 650mah+ battery life

Any of those will use eliquid. And cartomizers are a cost but preferred for vaping over atomizer+cart. A carto costs about $2 and should last about week or more if you fill it well and keep it damp. The 510 comes with atty+carts and cheapest would be just to keep reusing and restuffing a cart. just not the most pleasant. For 510 there are plenty of styles of blank cartos and few decent prefilled. For KR808D-2, good amount of prefilled and blanks. But prefilled is only a small convenience and not even that if you prefer other flavors in bottles. Whatever you use you will add eliquid - just less frequently with a carto.

I've only been vaping about a month now, but when I first started I couldn't decide between the 510 or the KR808D-1. I ended up going with the KR808D-1 and am currently satisfied with it. I found a good deal on a starter kit at My Vapor Store (however I found a better deal at Cig Easy after the purchase....theirs comes with a bottle of whatever flavor juice you want). I smoked about 1-2 packs of Marlbro Medium 100s for almost 10 years before that was smoking about a pack a week of Marlbro Reds for almost 8 years. Like you I started when I was 14 and quit many times, but since buying my starter kit I haven't even wanted a cigarette. I would suggest you buy one of the KR808D-1 starter kits (I liked that kit because to me it seemed easiest, it's just a 2 piece system), or which ever one you think is best for you, some blank cartomizers (since starting I have purchased 2 packs of blanks and 1 pack of prefilled and they are still going strong) and some juice. The best (and cheapest) way to do the juice is get some of the sample sizes. I purchased a bunch of the 3ml sample sizes from FSUSA they are around 2.00 a bottle. Even though they have some flavors of juices that you think you will really enjoy chances are you may not like them so instead of buying some larger bottles that may go to waste you should try the flavors out. Good luck!! I think once you get set up you will really like this option better than smoking.

I also came across a kit that has 1 KR-808D-1 battery, USB charger and two cartomizers for $20, which is a good deal but you should end up buying another battery, wall charger, more cartomizers and juice, It may be good though just to try it out to see if you like it, then you would only be out $20 plus the cost of juice and cartomizers which may be another $15 or so. a tip i would recommend is that you should find a flavor that is not close to tobacco, but a flavor you like such as grape? watermelon? chocolate? and use that to quit as you wont go out of your way specifically for the taste of tobacco, after all - one of the perks besides great flavor is that you are only really wanting the nicotine.

Actually I disagree about flavors - depends on the person. I had to have tobacco flavored eliquids in the beginning. That was was kept me away from smokes and make me feel satisfied beyond the nicotine fix. I found if I vaped fruity/foody juices I got intense cravings for an analog as if I had just eaten. I have run into some others on the forum with the same need for tobacco liquids. So everybody is different. After 2 months I was able to vape any flavors.

I've been vaping for about 2 months. I bought an Ego Kit from cignot.com and have been very happy with it.

You may want to think about the Ego-T that is out now, they can hold more juice than a regular cartridge. I haven't tried them but they have gotten positive reviews, but also some leaking problems. It's easy to do a search here if you're interested.

I just ordered some RY4, 555, and vanilla bean from elixirliquids and it is very good. In the beginning I thought I would have to have the tobacco taste, but after trying some of the sweeter liquids I don't feel that way anymore. I've only been vaping for 2 months, so still a newbie to this as well.

Hate is such a strong word. I dislike atomizers and think they are waste of money. If you hate cartos you just havent tried the right one. For instance the dual coil 1.5ohm carto that delivers warm vapor and a terrific throat hit oh did I mentioned more vapor than I have ever seen from any of my mods I have bought.

Check out the e power ego kit at hoosierecigsupply.com they are having a 15% off sale I think the code is ECF15 they have the lowest prices and were really a pleasure doing business with.

Madvapes has the e-power as well though at %15 off which you won't get at Madvapes, it looks like hoosierecigsupply.com is a little cheaper. I couldn't find batteries for it at hoosierecigsupply.com though.

There is a reason that there is so much information out there, and that is because there are so many options...
There is a reason there are so many options, and that is because everyone is different...

And because everyone is different, no one can predict what you should get, not even you.
Because the fact is, until you get one and start using it, you don't even know what you want or need.

So what you have to do is just buy one, and get started.
If money is an issue, then that complicates things quite a bit, because this process takes some experimentation at first.

The first hurdle is thinking it has to look like a cigarette.
Most people think that until they get one, and get tired of charging batteries all day.
But if you do feel you must have one around the size of a cigarette, then make sure to get a PCC with it.

If you can skip the first hurdle and tolerate something the size of a small cigar, then go straight for the Riva/Ego/Tornado/Inferno models.
They are a lot smaller than they look, and you'll probably get used to it in no time flat.

I generally don't make specific recommendations, but I do recommend reading this...

I am fairly new to this myself, but I have tried several types, and prefer the kr808d sold at vapor4life. They have both prefilled carts, and bottles of liquid, blank carts etc. Best of all they sell all parts of their kits individually (many at bargain bin prices) they bundle more items in their kits than many others, and have like 150 flavor options. If you're looking for value, I would go with vapor4life. By the way... they have a 26 % off sale going on now through 4-17. I hope that this helped.
