Hi. Let's just do a bit of troubleshooting.
You have 2 batteries, one works and the other doesn't.

Can you take a carto top that works on the good battery and put it on the non-working battery. Nothing?

Do you have a voltmeter? You could check to see if you have voltage from the center pin to the threads.

Does the center pin seem the right height? And this is very close, the difference could be very small. As other have suggested, take a paper clip and try to push the center pin up fron the sides.

Wait! Is this a new battery? There is a 60 day warranty from Halo. I would contact them. I see you are in Australia, so by phone might not be possible. But email is as good. Check the Halo site.

At the bottom of the page is a link to email Halo. (the online chat doesn't work most times...)

Best of luck!

I just got a g6 myself. However mine is an automatic battery but the first time I tried to use it I got nothing from it just like you. Then I loosened the carto off the battery just a smidgen. Not enough to where it was loose but not cranked down hard. After doing this it worked perfectly. Just a suggestion on what could be a simple fix.

DRK just off top of my head

When you take the battery off the charger it doesn't always go to ON your battery might actually be off so .....
1. Screw the tank onto the battery until it just starts to resist, not tight but for sure feels snug
2. turn ON the battery, ya have to click the button FIVE times QUICKLY, to slow and it wont turn on. The button will light up when its ON, light color is the same color as the battery you bought.
3. Make sure your center post (coil and wick part) is firmly screwed on, finger tight inside your tank

Hopefully this helps ya out.

I saw some people offering advice that doesnt apply to this battery: THERE IS NO NEED TO CLICK THE BUTTON 5 TIMES TO TURN IT ON, this is not the Triton (which does require 5 clicks to turn on)
just wanted to make sure it was seen. The G6 manual battery just requires a press and hold of the button to activate

So to recap
-The cart's work on your automatic battery, but not the manual
-Manual battery is fully charged, and light comes on when button is pressed
-Automatic battery terminal is slightly larger than the manual (mine are the same way, both work. Im going to assume this is not the issue)

So in my mind, the issue lies in either the cart-to-battery connection, or inside the battery itself. If it is inside the battery, not much we can do . You would need to contact Halo about a replacement
But they would ask if you tried their basic "troubleshooting" anyways, so may as well try it out now

1- I cannot remember if mine did, but does it look like there is a plastic/vinyl protective piece over the battery terminal? (much like the plastic stuff that covers new electronics) Possibly try taking a paperclip and GENTLY scrape a bit on the terminal to make sure nothing comes off the top
2- Take a q-tip/cotton swab, and any iso alcohol (70% or higher, 97%+ electronics grade cleaning alcohol preferred) and dab and wipe the top of the terminal, and around the threads.
Can also take a toothpick and make sure the holes on the side of the battery are completely cleared. THen run the toothpick around the inside of the terminal around the post (this is called the Moat) to make sure nothing is in there as well. Finish up with a wipe from a paper towel. Make sure all the alcohol is gone before attempting to use it (no fun to inhale that stuff, poison)
3- Make sure you are holding the button down while you are using it to vape. When my wife first used my G6 manual, she thought she only had to press the button for it to work, and nothing was comming out. I had to explain that she had to hold the button down while vaping.
4- If possible, (and didnt see you mention this) try another cart. There could be a slight gap that would cause issues with one cart/batt combo, but a different cart might might make the connection.

Thats all I have for my basic troubleshooting. If after all this it still doesnt work, I would contact Halo (either via Cinder Ella, the halo rep on these boards, or through email and phone. Usually takes 24-48 hours to hear a response)

good luck

This is funny, but true. While teaching a few new people the art of vaping, I had forgotten that several of them had to be told to HOLD the button. (My advice for first time vapors, hold the button and draw for the count of "one thousand two thousand". Release the button, but continue to draw for another "thousand". It cools the coil and prolongs the life)

Reminds me of a vapor on this forum who could not get a hit from his Triton. After many suggestions, he went to his local vape shop, where they showed him to keep his fingers off of the little air ports on the side of the tank.

Sometimes it's a simple thing that stumps us.

Hi Guys,

Some great suggestions here! have tried multiple carts and none seem to be making a connection (just air coming through with the manual battery)
Also tried to see if there was any plastic and clean it out with a toothpick still no luck :(

I also had a look at a silver G6 manual battery I have post seems to be the same size so that can't be the issue..

Stumped to what it is and battery lights up fine when the button is held and seems to be working theres just no vapour :(

And it's not the size of the center pin, but the height. I have issues with another tank that won't fire on a certain battery. The difference in height between it working and not working is about .004", the width of a thick hair.

And it might just be a dud. Find a friend with a voltmeter to see if there's power.

And please do contact Halo. It's not fast, but Halo Customer Service is very good.

Since distance and time is an issue, perhaps if you send yours back and order and pay for a new one. When they get it and verify it's defective, they can refund you.

And I feel your pain. It would really peeve me to have brand new hardware and having it not work.

Luck to you.

One quick thing to try, if you have already loosened off your cartomiser and have tried to move the contact on the battery, most atomisers have a centre bar to contact the contact plate on the battery, if you grab carefully with your finger nails right at the bottom and pull it out very slightly this should mean that the connection can be made. Let me know if this helps
