brand new e cig-really need some help here

ok here goes...
i just purchased, after doing much research, a cloud 9 e cigarette. i checked into many and checke dout the ones in the mall, on the youtube videos etc. i was super imresse with everything i could find about cloud 9. what i was looking for was something that looked good and could produce a lot of vapor. i mean if it isnt producing the clouds it just doesnt seem like a real smoke. also it is going to have to atleast somewhat resemble the real taste of a cigarette.
to make a long story short, i made an order, received my order, and for the most part was very pleased with my order....mostly..
this is a gift for my aunt, who is the only relative that i have that is still alive. she is very near and dear to me, and we have been very close since my childhood when i came to live with her and my grandparents at age 6. she is about 46 now and has smoked most of her life. i really want to help her stop,and she has been wanting to stop as well, but has had very little luck. i really feel that this could be a way to help her stop or atleast move to vaping which i would stil very much prefer over the smoking. the problem here is that while the cloud 9 looks great and the liquid taste good, i didnt feel at all lke i was smoking. i didnt feel what i think they call the throat hit. when i inhale it felt like a normal breath not like i was inhaling smoke, and i have been quit for over a year now so it shouldnt take much . is thee anything i can do to make it feel like smoking? the clouds were big and everything, but i think it needs to be felt not just seen. please help, this is her x mas present from me...

I'm not real familliar with the cloud 9 but i have noticed that different liquids give me a different throat hit... stronger nic content will do it too... check out some of the suppliers. I would try as many flavors as you can... so far i have tried 9 and i really like them all... chocolate @ 24mg nic gives me a pretty hearty hit... but it will probably be different for you and different again for your aunt. flavors are a very personal thing. people can tell you what they like but in the end you have find em for yourself... so your aunt will need to experiment as well. jmo

I did a quick search and found this link showing what I'm guessing may be the exact e-cig that you purchased. You can tell me if this is correct or similar.

If this is the right one, than it looks like the KR808D-1 model which is quite popular. It is the first model I purchased and used and after my very first vape, I put my analogs away forever (I hope). I have since purchased and absolutely love my new Joye 510 I got from here.

I am still a newbie here and still have a lot to learn, but I do know that after 36+ years of smoking, I am DONE with analogs (regular cigarettes). I think your genuine concern for your aunt is commendable and if there is any hesitation on her part, please introduce her to the forum here at e-cigarettte-forum.com and ask her to read, read and read some more. She can join the forum and ask all the questions she wants. If she decides to give it a try, we are here to support her 100% 24/7! It really helped me tremendously!

The atomizer is a dead ringer for a rn4081- in fact, if you do a google search for "rn4081 atomizer", it's the first shopping result.
They also link to a post on ECF about their compatibility with Smoking Everywhere products, which are known to be rn4081s as well, correct?

hey thanks for all the posts already. well the link that goes to cloud 9 at the e cig 365 link was in fact the one that i have. it looks a lot like the one that is the smokeanywhere brand but i dont know if it is the same or not. i tried the one at the mall but with a lot less vapor than the cloud 9. i have played with it a bit and noticed that if i plug one of two small intake holes that are right in the threaded part of the unit, i get a way better hit. if i plug one and intermittently plug second hole i can get a strong, real feeling hit. the unit produces as much vapor as a cigarette would smoke, but i again need to feel it.
someone mentioned having stronger nicotine would help the feel a bit and also different juices.. do you know which ones would produce a stronger throat hit and feel? i know if she tries this and it doest do what she expects it to do, it will be the end. she is not much of an experimental person as i am. i am trying to get it right before i ever give it to her.

That appears to be a KR808D-1.... or some other 2-piece model.

I don't know why you would be interested in that model. It appears to be grossly overpriced, and it doesn't come from one of the mainstream suppliers.

I would highly recommend the Vapor King from Vapor4Life. You can get the Ultimate Ultimatum kit for less than the price of the V2 and the customer service is excellent. There is a sub-forum here for V4L; you should check it out. For anyone new to e-cigs, I think the 2-piece units are a good way to go. They're not as intimidating as the 3-piece e-cigs and the quality is very good.

It is a three piece e cig, so it is not a KR 808D1 If you are getting good vapor but not throat hit, then the liquid is probably the problem. Go to HIGH VOLTAGE Liquid 12Mg 30ml Plastic Dropper Bottles and order some high voltage in the flavor of your choice. Rasberry Frapuccino and Pralines and cream are excellent.

Get the highest nicotine level. I use 24 mg, but many need 36 mg. The lower the nic, the lower the throat hit IMO
