Michelle, personally I think those mini's are a pita. This is bad advice but it works for me. After I fill my tanks I let them sit for about 5 minutes. I then fire the mod at the lowest v/w setting a few times, without inhalling. If it sounds ok and smells ok then I know I'm set to hit it. I cringe at the burnt taste and avoid at all cost!

Thanks! And yes, the taste is horrendous!! Ugh. SO disappointed!

I'm new to priming too. With apire coils there are no wicks to be seen? They're so tiny, I can't imagine taking it apart?

With topcoi systems the coil is at the top and the have long wicks hanging down and therefore you see the wicks.

With bottom coils, the coil is at the bottom, so you don't need long wicks; the wicks are short.

That is one of the most simple and important checks you can do when putting in a new dry coil in a tank; after you think the wick has gotten wet enough, hold it to your ear and press the button and listen to the sound; with experience you will know the sound to look for.

Have you gentlemen tried white vinegar? I've done the vodka method but still had lingering odors. Diluted vinegar is working so much better for me.

Thats a good point come to think of it; I get problems because of hard water leaving white residue on my stuff; I really should try out the vinegar instead of just using hot water because I know from experience that vinegar works magic to clean out the hard water residue that accumulates in my kettle.
