so... I just ground down the middle seal plat into a cone shape (or a bell...) took apart a DCC and wrapped the filler from that around the stem and filled with juice. made a 1.8 coil and used 4 strands from a roll of peaches and cream yarn to make a wick. Put the ends of the wick pointing up and put the whole thing together. Waited for the juice to soak the wick and started vaping.

So far this is working fantastically, I need to figure out what to coat the brass on the ground down area with but seriously this works fantastically! I may need to buy a couple more of these...

I put in a U shaped SS mesh wick, I think its 325, I don't think it really matters too much as I'm using gravity not wicking to feed the coil.

I haven't figured out what to coat the exposed brass with yet, was thinking maybe JB Weld quick but dunno as it will constantly be in contact with the juice.

edit: of course the pics came out sideways...

So... has anyone tried the BO6 (previously mentioned in this thread) or the Banshee V4 bottom coil RBAs from VaporAlley? Any feedback???
Yes I have one. It has higher posts. I soldered the air stem. Melted an air hole at level with the coil. I basically modified it into a 2 tank system. I just like air from the side now, instead of the bottom. Bo-6

I've used it to make box mods before. Picked it up in the automotive section of Wal-Mart, although most any auto parts store or home improvement store should stock it.

It is an epoxy in a solid putty form, sort of a log. You just cut a section and kneed it until it is a uniform consistency and color and apply it let it set for 20-30 minutes minutes and it's rock hard. It can be sanded if needed once cured.

So, I've widened the side air-holes to the point you could drive a truck through them. To wet the wick I just blow through and it drips down. Physics is great! I used the pointy end of a thread-ripper (from a sewing kit) and a nail file to smooth the outside. I was using needles before and I finally broke off a piece big enough to permanently clog the air hole...

So, to remove the needle bits, I took it apart. First, I unscrewed the fixed post from the base and removed the top from the other post. I thought I could pull on the floating post to remove it (vice crimps)... it turns out, it's fixed to a plate that pulled the cap off the base. There's a lot of room inside these bases! Had to re-solder a new wire to the battery post and that plate... and replace the battery connecter grommit.

So, omg, these things are rebuildable in every sense of the word!

Some pictures I took while it was apart:

The base cap snapped back onto the base fairly easily. Lightly held them together with vice-crimps and used plumber's pliers on the other side. No pop, just fits snug as bug.

I loved my BO-6's so much that I regretted parting with 5/10 of them... so I ordered 10 more. Direct from the same source (just google it). It would appear that the BO-6s with half chamber/half tank are version 2's... they're definitely not imitation. The smaller chambers of the version 1 flooded so easily and now there's a bit of room for excess liquid to sit. Also, when putting them back together, it was tough to fit the wicks in and they frayed quickly.

Another improvement on the version 2 is that the drip-tip socket is now funnel-shaped to draw condensation back down towards the wick. The old one's were flat and had often had to be dried-out with some tissue... or risk sucking it into your mouth. Ew.

Unchanged is the draw holes on the side of the 510 connection. They're are still too small. I'm not looking forward to widening them...

By the way, ask nicely and they can switch your drip tips from the stock chrome/steel. I got black xylonite vase tips. :)

I also ordered their silicone bottom-coil tanks (replaceable atomizer not RBA), but that's another story...

On the subject of tubes, you can't just use a small DC tank tube because the BO-6's tube is longer... unless you can get them custom-cut at the source... but lol, plastic is plastic. If anyone manages to get pyrex tubes that fit, please tell us. If I get bored and interested, I might just invest in a pyrex glass cutter... but tracking down tubes of the right diameter might be more trouble than it's worth... these things aren't exactly easy to take apart and stretching the plastic tubing seems to be part of the package deal...

I'm guessing we bottom-coil folks are in the minority... I've seen the BO-8s everywhere and a million top-coils RBA and replaceable... Oh well.
