Hello my fellow Reo users...

I just received a Reo this past Wednesday. It's been working pretty well (all things considered since I'm using an A7)... But literally 5 minutes ago it stopped firing. The battery seems to be falling out of the case when the door is out, and even when I force the battery to make a connection when the button is pressed, it will not fire. Have tried both AW IMR's and Panasonic's since this has happened.

Any clue?

and not to spam my own thread, but even after putting in the replacement spring it's still not firing. Any other ideas, my fellow reo users?
Take a nail file, sandpaper, or something coarse and run it against the fire pin. Do that by removing the battery, pressing the button, and filing where the pin meets the battery.

I'm wondering if somehow the top part where the battery is supposed to make a connection isn't messed up for some reason or another.

Crappy pictures but I can't help but wonder if it's not making a connection.
Huh. Well, if you have the rebuild kit it's simple enough to replace the button. Just one screw.

This thread will catch Rob's eye Im sure cause he is constantly on the prowl. :) I have nothing to add besides the obvious. Rob or someone else will chime in. I never have collapsed a spring (done worse) but Im a wood guy. Hope you your REO is back up and running soon.

Catharlex, before you do much (you can go ahead and replace the spring....) I'd PM Rob (redeyedancer) or give him a call. He'll talk to you on the phone. His phone number is on the business card he included with the mod. Sorry this happened. I'm sure you're frustrated.

If you can't find the phone number, it's 207-490-9783.

If the reo wont fire with you A7 and will with a carto the issue is your A7 did you check the screws on the A7 ? I've not used my A7 yet but have with other RBA's the screws need to be adjusted occasionally. If the A7 has collapsed your spring dont us it until you have made sure that it isnt shorted out

I will add to the Reo wont short as it is it is always atty or carto issues or human error most commonly over tightening of the threads
