I just received my Mini 2.1 yesterday, loaded up a carto, used it last night and this morning. When to hit it again in the car, on the way into work, and nothing. Is it possible the carto failed?

Happened to me once and the reason was very silly (after I figured it out). In the middle of using a carto I put it on some other mod to compare. The other mod has pushed the positive pin a bit deeper into the carto, after which it wouldn't make contact in a Reo. Check that, it may be that simple.

Just wanted to post a follow up... It was user error. I had managed to push the button cover on too far, and it was blocking the pin from making contact with the battery. heh... oops

I rolled a little ballof paper and put that inside the button because my reo wouldnt fire too. Without the paper in there the button kept working its way down and then it wouldnt fire again..

I cut a little piece off a carto condom, and put that inside the button, now. Hopefully, that does the trick.

Don't be a button masher!! O.K. here is a little thing to do. Hold the REO with the atty up to your ear. Gently...got it? Gently push the button down. Listen and see just how little pressure it takes to fire.

Now stop being a button masher!!! Be gentle......a soft touch....easy.....oh wait...think I am getting off track..........

As far as the button cover sliding down on the button, I cut a small piece of the tube that came with the button and put it inside of the button cover, and it acts as a perminant spacer.

Maybe I should start a new thread: What's stuck in your button top? Might be interesting!

The button sliding down is my fault I should have made them one size for all . I was thinking it would be nice to adjust them to your liking lesson learned my next batch I wont mill out as much material

The only thing that's your fault is the awesomeness of these mods! !

I've learned the fine art of the delicacy of the push, and I'm wary of letting folks trying my REO because they invariably mash the button down with too much force; but on occasion, when my head is in the clouds I still do press too hard. I think the idea about the "What's Inside Your Button Cover?" thread is great! This thread alone has given me some ideas...

Thanks,

Norman
