One of zillion things I have read about the istick is something a couple of people have said about the 510 connection. I know a couple of people that have the first istick to come out and one of them mentioned that they are keeping a 510 connector on it to help preserve the threading on the device.
Yeah, I had seen a good bit of people mention that they just leave an adapter on their mod to preserve the threading. Unfortunately, as I was looking over my orders today I realized that somehow I had forgotten to order a 510 extender. Coulda swore I had it in my cart but I guess I never actually added it so I'm ordering one separately. Most of the tanks I have coming are ego thread anyway so I'l just use those until the extender makes it.
Smok, each tank will have its own little personality but on the whole, you do not want to let your tank run dry. It will burn the wick and with replaceable heads, once you burn one, you have to put a new one in. Some you can rebuild yourself to save money, some you can not. So it can get expensive.
If you are finding that the people posting in the thread about that particular topper are saying they are getting burnt hits or little vapor, you should put more juice in the tank. Don't run any tank dry.
Good advice

. Mainly I just wanted to try and figure out how low I could safely empty the tank, for a couple of reasons. Like if for some reason I don't have any juice on me and its getting really low. If I'm wanting to change the flavor but not wanting to waste more liquid than I have to. Also just to have that general knowledge for this and future tanks.
I actually sat here and thought about how it worked for a bit after Vantucky's response, and realized that I may have lucked out with this eGo. My wicks actually seem to sit right on the edge of where the tank and the atomizer screw together, so I'm using the edge of the atomizer's silver connection sort of like my pseudo danger line.
Concerning menthol, mints, tobaccos and other distinctly flavored juices. Most of those strong flavors will not come out of the head and sometimes not even out of the tank. Menthol is one of them. I keep a separate tank for juices with distinct flavors that will not rinse out. I have one for tobacco, one for desserts, one for fruits. I do not like menthols or mints but I have tried them from time to time. I have had to throw away heads and clean and rebuild coils and put new wicks in to get rid of those flavors.
Another reason to have multiple toppers.
Well that is good to know. I believe I may have seen a little bit about this somewhere. Is there a way to know before-hand if the flavor you're about to use is one of the strong ones?
For the first couple of months your tastebuds will probably be healing from the abuse from smoke. In the beginning a lot of people need to vape stronger flavors. As time goes by and you are tasting your juice and food better, you may find that some of your juices taste too strong. This is where sampling various vendors will come in. You can always add a little vg or pg to water down an overpowering flavor, or even mix a couple of flavors together to get something that hopefully tastes better.
Another thing for you to consider: it is a good idea to have a bottle of a juice you like in a stronger nicotine level, for those bad cravings moments. So if you are good at 18mg but still get cravings in the morning or during stress, try vaping 24mg for 10-15 minutes to 'kick it up a notch' for the moment. It helps a lot of people.
That makes sense. I've only ordered the 2 sampler packs right now for a total of 12 bottles (and whatever free they send), all of which are 50/50 18mg. Wanted to test my entire setup once it arrives at a normalized starting point before branching out into different mixtures and strengths, since the most I know about the feel and taste of vaping right now consists of a menthol flavored e-cig and this eGo with the Menthol and Blueberry, at 2.4% per ml nic (15ml bottle) and 1.2% per ml nic (15ml bottle) respectivey, which I'm assuming is 24mg and 12mg. However, they are convenience store e-liquids so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.
I'm not sure if the Menthol is hitting hard enough, but truthfully it may just be because I'm wishing for a bit larger of a hit (vapor AND throat burn) than this eGo wants to give me

. I also went tonight and picked up a Peach and a Strawberry flavor, although it killed me inside lol. After seeing the prices online (2.99 for 10ml with prices only getting lower if bought in bulk or bigger size or in a group deal like the Sampler) paying the $5.99+tax at the gas station hurt a bit, but I wanted to make sure I had some extras just in case my order takes a long time to get here for some reason or the gas station doesn't have them next time I go back.
On a side note here, earlier I had to put the eGo on the charger so I grabbed up the e-cig while it charged. When I first bought them for me and the wife they hit like garbage and felt like a waste of time, but when I picked it up earlier and used it I was surprised. It seems to be hitting way better than when we first got them, like anywhere between I wanna say half as well as the eGo (which is a HUGE step up from before) to approaching nearly just as well as the eGo.
I'm assuming a lot of factors could be playing into that. When we got it the battery may not have been fully charged and was only giving a half .... dinky vape. The wife may have put a fresh cartridge on there without me realizing it. I was also thinking maybe its just because I've learned how to vape.. better? Or because we haven't been smoking analogs and have been vaping for a few days now. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on that? Because I had given up on the e-cig, was even dreading vaping on it while the eGo charged and was very pleasantly surprised.
I'm also starting to notice that my mouth has a sort of metallic, maybe even bloody taste from time to time, although I can find no evidence of blood anywhere. Its not really concerning me too much, just wondering if its a normal effect of quitting smoking or if something might be wrong with the eGo. A medication I am on puts me a bit on edge, and combined with quitting smoking I've noticed that sometimes I seem to be subconsciously gritting my teeth a lot or sorta like dancing them around in my mouth, clenching them together in different spots without thinking about it, so I've actually checked for bleeding a few times now because of the taste. It could also be that my medication gives a pretty bad cottonmouth effect, and I'll vape for quite a while without drinking anything so I may not be "rinsing" my mouth out with saliva for too long of a period of tme while steady vaping.
