Started vaping, oh - I guess September 9, 2010 - with the 'anticipation' that e-cigs were actually less expensive than traditional tobacco. Today, for the first time - I'm +$2.37!!!! LOL!

Took only 5 months having had to push back my break-even day several times - but, now - vaping is only pure profit for me - for my health AND my wealth - and, I don't even need to buy anything for about 2 weeks!

Two CHEERS for vaping!

Congrats Bloog! I'm not sure if/when I broke even. Every few months it occurs to me that I'm ahead a few hundred bucks, and then proceed to treat myself to a few hundred bucks worth of mods & juices. I figured I was set for mods, came back to the ECF after a hiatus of a month or two, and am now wondering how I lived without a VV mod or a nice ePipe. Sigh...

For those of you who say you have not broken even yet, were you smoking more than 1 pack a day?
Here are my numbers, and Please tell me if i'm wrong because I feel i broke even and more since the day I started vaping.

Usually smoked 2 packs a day ($8.50 x2 = $17.00) - at least here in NJ that's the price (insane i know).
$17x30 days is $510 a month

Now I vape Halo Juice 30ml bottles - 23$ with shipping, I go through 3ML a day, so that means I need 3 bottles.

That is $69 a month - factor in 3 (2.0 ohm) or (1.7 ohm) atties a month, and that adds 24$ to 69 = 93$.

So i'm saving $417 dollars a month

This is not including startup cost since I've been vaping for a year.

I'm using 2 old tornado batteries, and ego T- tanks, and using a ReoGrand most of the time...so even if you factor that 1 time cost for the reo grand of $170 with batteries and charger...I'm still saving 300 $ for the first month, then 417$ each month after that.

Am i taking crazy pills ?

WAIT. Unless you guys are talking about how many years you spent on analogs, vs. how much money you've saved thus far. Then that is different entirely. It will take me 20 years to get back the money I spent on analogs.

Which scenario are we talking about ?

I was buying a carton every 5 or 6 days for my wife and I. That's 6 cartons a month between us, somewhere close to $200 a month. After buying two 510 kits and later an Ego, I started making money the second month or so. My juice costs are about $40-$50 a month and occasionally I will buy an atty or a battery. Most months I spend somewhere around $50-$60 average.

Now, if you tend to buy one of everything new that comes out, you will go in the red quickly.

I bought my initial setup, then bought some extra atty's and carts, then bought a PT since I sit at a desk all day, then I upgraded to an eGo Mega, then I upgraded again to the eGo-T, found true love with it, so I bought some more attys and tanks for it. I'm good for a while now... altho the 1000mAh batts with the turn off switch is looking mighty inviting ;)

First off, congrats!

My wife and I were introduced to vaping in September or so... and before Christmas had spent well into four digits' worth of vaping gear. To top that, we were still cheating with analogs the entire time! (both smoke free now, though.) Worse than that? We keep a "Wish List" e-mail we trade back and forth with what ELSE we want to buy. It's sad, really.

Wow, that describes my spending to a 'T' (and the turn off switch is great btw.....)
I also ventured into a V3 and now a 5v box mod, so... I need to push back that break even day a bit more. Oh well, I am not smoking!
