I have officially saved enough money on cigarettes to cover the cost of ALL my vaping materials! Now I still have enough juice left to go another month... easily! Not that I intend to, there are just too many yummy flavors I wanna try! What a wonderful day. What a wonderful forum full of wonderful, helpful and supportive people.
THANKS TO ALL!!:vapor::laugh::p:laugh::vapor:

Congrats!!

I am on smoke-free day 23 as a PAD smoker, with the following cash outlays:
~25.0 cigarette packs (25 days) worth of hardware
~8.6 cigarette packs worth of disposables purchased while waiting for my first shipment
~4.0 cigarette packs spent on gifts (cartos and an express starter kit)
~2.6 cigarette packs spent on shipping charges
~31.8 cigarette packs spent on cartos

With my carto inventory and current utilization rate, I'm in the black by about 2 cigarette packs.

Excluding my inventory and just looking at cash outlays, I'll break even on my hardware on Tuesday, and on other non-juice expenditures ~15-16 days after that. My juice will be paid for about a month after that, and I'm technically owed about 4-5 cigarette packs worth of cartos (from a friend with whom I combine orders to snag free shipping).

So yeah, the cash outlay for me has thus far outpaced the savings - if I could just stop myself from picking up hardware, then I'll realize a cash savings soon enough.

Next step:
Moving from cartos to dripping juice into used cartos, cutting my cost/ml roughly in half

I love it. I am looking forwards to my break even date. I say WTG.

I will have an approximate break even point in Late October or by sometime in Nov. It would be sooner but I have bought some cigs by the pack while I have been cutting down to quit. I'm down to about a quarter of what I used to smoke and loving the vaping. Took me awhile to get a set up I really like on mg so now I have 24mg, 18 mg and 12 mg so I can vape strong in the morning and taper off during the day and do the 12 mg when I am chain vaping in the evenings:)

After my next purchase I will officially break even at my 90 day mark.

1st order to volcano for a inferno kit + extras and juices 180$

2 orders to Virgin Vapor for juices and 2x Vivi Nova's + extras 150$

Next order to provape for a provari + extras 250ish$

Total 680ish$

Waking up in the morning knowing I won't be smoking cigarettes = priceless

AWESOME! WTG Everyone! Breaking even is VERY important to me because we have 6 kids and have lived on laborers wages for years now. The $860-ish we spent on smoking/month was killing us. How rediculous is that? Almost what we pay for rent! A HUGE part of this is about saving money, the other part is about saving life. About 40/60 respectively.
Since our funds are limited, I have kept my spending in check, I spent about $150 at maddcatt vapors and about $80 on the green smart living mini cigs from the gas station before that. Between my wife and I we are actually way ahead. In less than 2 weeks we have saved like $380 (she is on day 7 today!) I didn't taper either. I think I was just very determined, cuz the gas station minis left me feeling jonesed most of the day. But each time I tried to take a drag or two off an analog, it wasn't any better.
All in all, this forum and all the support and advice I've received here have saved our lives and helped us improve our quality of life.
Thanks again everyone.
As it pertains to my health, I have avoided inhaling around 16,512 mg of tar and ash particulates so far! That's a pretty awesome feeling! Thanks for reminding me.

Congrats!
Looking ahead to see my break-even point...
Being an engineer, I had set out on a 35+ year adventure in optimizing smoking costs. 6 weeks ago today, that adventure was concluded, and I began a new one. Dollar-wise, I don't see break-even happening any time soon. But you can't really put a price-tag on your health, and that's where the real savings are.
