Well I have spent way to much money. I wanted to try Everything...
My friends get the benefit of being able to try a bunch of juices before buying anything.

I have sold 3 starter kits so far to friends and coworkers. So I recouped $120 of that.

When my friends need juice or cartomizers, they just call me, no need to wait on USPS.
60ml in juice sales so far, 20 cartos sold.

I sent out some sample to people.. about 100ml so far

Just made my first box mod 2 days ago, its all I been using since I made it. Well I have been using the manual passthrough with the 901 atty on it to taste juices I am mixing as well...

My First Box Mod

Yeah its not the greatest, but it was my first time with a soldering iron. Found out plastic melts really fast when your not paying attention. Its cool though, I got enough stuff to make like 7 more boxes on the way.

Wow, this sounds like it really turns into a hobby!

I was kicking myself for spending around $70 to start up, but now I'm thinking that's not so bad!

I am still saving money compared to analog's!

My starting investment was 50 dollars and that lasted a month and I could probably stretch that out to 4 months. That's nearly a 700 dollar savings over 4 months. even with my recent purchase I am saving nearly 400 dollars in 4 months!

Feb 2nd, 2010: 77.00
E-cig set up: 2 510’s plus 1 e-juice, extra battery and charger. (starter pack)

Feb 6th, 2010: 20.00 Juice from Mrs. T’s
Ordered: Strawberry Cheesecake, Cinnamon Roll, and Hot Chocolate (haven't received yet)

Feb. 7th: 10.00
Ordered extra cart filler stuff (fish filter) - Not here yet

Feb. 8th: 30.00 Tasty Vapor
Ordered Bananas Foster and Spiced Rum juice. -being shipped

Total to date: $137.00 bucks

Looking at ordering another starter Joye510 set too :) My husband has also decided to vape which is great, but I hadn't planned on that.

I'm curious, as I haven't seen it posted anywhere. How long will say a 1 oz bottle of e-juice last say compared to a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker like me? I am not sure how to figure out the cost of the juice compared to smoking. Not to totally derail the op.

Thanks

It really depends on how much you vape, Riplea. Heavy vapers seem to do up to 5 ml a day. How strong the liquid is can also be a factor. If you're not getting enough nicotine for your addiction, your body will want you to vape more.

I have a spreadsheet called "Non-smoking Savings." There are columns for:
Daily cost of cigarettes (adjusted in the first 5 days for the few cheats I did)
Total spent on vaping
Net savings
Analogs not smoked (adjusted for those 5 days)

Whenever I buy something new, the "total spent on vaping" column changes from that point on. (I don't want the banners because I can't make the constant adjustments for accuracy.)

I open it every day and stare at it. Tomorrow I will reach 3,000 cigarettes not smoked.

So which is it that is totally worth the money??

I'm smoking about a pack less a day, that's worth the money to me for my health. I just started this a few days ago.

Once I settle in on the flavors I like the most, if I can save money in the long run replacing analogs, then that's icing on the cake :)

So I have about $1,300 worth of E-cig stuff here.
Cigarettes cost $8.25 a pack here. I smoked 2 packs a day. That is $16.50.
So 1300/16.50 = 78 days worth of cigarette money.
I have 1200ml of juice here now. At 1.5ml a day (1200/1.5) = 800 days worth of juice.

I look at it like this:
If I stop buying stuff right now, I can go for 2 years without spending another penny.
2 years of cigs would cost me ($16.50 x 730) = $12,045
I spent $1,300
So in 2 years I will save $10,075.

Convincing my girlfriend of this is an ongoing battle. She keeps looking at monthly...
When the credit card bill comes in...

Thank you, that will give me an estimate to use.

That's a staggering amount of cigs not smoked, congratulations :) I'm sure mine would add up quickly too.

Man, you guys have spent a LOT of money! lol

Let's see...

Janty Stick V2 w/ extra atty: ~ $95
Johnson Creek "starter kit" thingy with syringes, juice, bottles (waste of money...all I use is the syringe): $24 (on sale)
10ml bottle of MLB: $7
Various orders of carts, liquid, attys from MVS: $78.46 + $32.49 + $35.49 + $29.48 = $175.92
30ml bottle of RY4 from SEJ & blue foam: $10.70
Janty Stick V3: ~ $80

$392.62 spent in 200 days of vaping.

Cigarette cost for 200 days: about $1200 for 4000 analogs...looks like I've saved some cash :)

Do you mean which items we each bought were worth the money and which were a waste?

I think it depends on the person. All the DIY stuff I bought would be a bargain for some people but it was a stupid purchase for me.

There are foods I can try and think "that was well made but I won't ever eat it again." Most of my juice mistakes fall into that category. They still make that flavor because it is someone's favorite. I'm just not that someone.

In terms of my hardware, they only thing I regret is the Joye510 passthrough. Apparently it's lack of reliability is a recurring problem so I'll replace it with one made by BE.

Is anyone keeping real tabs on how much they are saving minus what they are spending on vaping to get a real sense of how much they are saving by not smoking analogs?

Are you guys trying to do anything special with that money? Always told myself I would put it towards a trip or some kind of toy. I always have to have the latest, greatest game consoles, TVs, etc. out there....

The picture in my forum signature is made by me and is hosted on my website. I take into account the amount spent on PV kits, carts cost (need to calculate by juice), and avg amt spent per month on supplies (attys, etc)

Birdcage. Poeia needs a new one badly. Annabella could use a new one too, but hers is nicer so it will wait for another couple of months.

Fortunately, my store is going to get it for me for a little more than wholesales. Stainless Chiquita Playtop
