I got a DID in and was SUPER excited! I built the wick (beautifully I might add) wrapped the wick with 32 gauge nichrome wire, and hooked it to my Natural with an 18350 batt and no kick. It glows for about 1 sec then "breaks". So what am I to do but try, try again......and again....and again (you get the point) Ive done around 30 and same thing everytime. Do i need a bigger gauge wire, maybe a different kind? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Did you oxidize the wick? How many wraps and did you check the resistance before you fired it? sounds like you have a hot spot from a short.
wrapped the wick 3 times and also 4 times. my mods (Tesla, Provari, Vamo) will not give a resistance. I am doing what they show online.... I think.
I oxidize the wick 3 times before I install it, and I do the whole juice burn 10 times just to be safe.
If your mods aren't giving a reading you have a short somewhere. Wick on bottom of tank or insulator missing?
There should be an insulator where the wick passes through the top to the tank.
nope. Guess that is what I am missing. I dont think the DID comes with one, but now I think im just gonna pony up the money and get the AGA T2. This has been more than upsetting, but Im no quitter......except analogs. Thanks for all the help troubleshooting.
my voltage isnt regulated because it is straight voltage from the 18350 mechanical mod. can't get an APV to fire the thing. I don't know what it is but I know it has been a month and I have gotten it to produce vapor once. Ill see if someone can troubleshoot with me at my next vapor club meeting.
Try oxidizing the wick a few more times and quench it in water while it's still hot.

No man, you will NOT go out like this. Imeo makes that fire, but one cannot harness fire without EXP.
