As my 1 year old battery supply started to die I bought 4 LG HG2s for replacement. I thought I had a dud when one of them ran out of gas 2/3 of the way through a 5.5ml tank twice. Then it would not charge completely. I was about ready to pitch it but gave it one last try after it finally took a complete charge. To my surprise it lasted the whole tank with about 1/8 of a bar left. Is this common or a fluke?

I number and date all of my batteries and after 6+ years I'm up to 36. Most of them are Sony's, but the last 8 have been Molicel's due to Mooch's blog | E-Cigarette Forum

Other than my cells taking a couple of cycles to reach full power, I've not had a single battery act up in any way. I can never find any reason to take them out of service other than the fact they're a year old.

Bought at Amazon.
I would not buy Li-ion cells for vaping there. Heck, I'm reluctant to buy laptop or phone batteries there. There's just too much fake stuff being sold by third-party sellers on Amazon.

Who sold them?

The fact that they've reached one year of age is not a reason to take them out of service.

My requirements for a battery is for it to vape a whole 5.5ml tank on a charge. I keep 2 units going all of the time because of heat build up. I refill tanks and batteries about twice a day. Four of my batteries started dying all at once after a year of service, they were Samsung 25r. I’m satisfied with that

Would be other good choices.

Nothing wrong with Samsung 25r / the LgHg2, 30Q,& Vtc6 all are higher mah ~ 3000.

Your main requirements should be 'authentic cells' then sufficient CDR for your specific amp demand / normal power range.

Due to my ignorance of electronics (see Signature) and lack of cycle counts, I just go with one year. Seems like a safe and affordable bet for me.

I have batteries that are over three years old that still hold a full charge. But I have a lot of batteries so it’s not the same ones being recharged every day and reused. The average charge cycle on Li batteries is supposedly 300 charges. I believe it varies and is likely higher, but not by a ton. So yes, if you keep recharging the same battery for use every day a year may we’ll be pushing towards the end of life cycle. But if you buy a decent number of batteries so a single battery or set of batteries only see use perhaps once a week you can get years out of them.

As I understand it batteries, in the EU anyway, must be shipped with 1/3 charge. I know we don't have to treat then like the original rechargeables to avoid them developing a memory ... but I put new ones on a device as they come and use them til they run down then recharge them fully.

I buy batteries from sellers on Amazon that I know, and have dealt with directly previously, because I get them next day post free from Amazon.

Some of my batteries are three years old, but I run a rotation and they still take a full charge and have a normal life.

But then again I'm a Tootle puffer who rarely if ever goes up to 10 watts max.
