Broke both Egos in 2 weeks. Rebuy? Your opinion please...

Good afternoon Vapers,

So, either I'm the clumsiest vaper around, or I just have bad luck. I just bought my first setup two weeks ago. I got a 1000Mah Ego Twist and a 650 Mah Ego Twist with some vision clearos and carts. The 650 Mah ego dropped, landed on the corner of the dial and bent so that I can only twist up to about 4.2. Still works, so I thought - I'll rebuy that one and keep this as a backup spare. Well today, I have no idea what happened but when I went to use my 1000 Mah twist, the button was jammed. I fiddled and fiddled but I cannot get this thing to work again. Useless. So now after three weeks, I'm down to just the bent 650 Mah which has to stay low in voltage but at least still works.

I loved the ego twists. I thought they worked well and looked very sleek as well. I had no complaints with their operation. Just didn't expect to have to be buying more batteries so soon.

I can't buy anything till Monday (payday) and to re-buy the two twists will cost about 60 bucks. Should I just rebuy the Ego Twists since they were working well for me? Or is there something better I should get with the money? My budget is 150 for batts, replacement atomizer heads, clearos or tanks, & juice.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me. I hate the fact that I have to start from scratch only three weeks after I started.. I'm _really trying_ not to go outside right now and have an analog from stress over this.

i would get a couple new twists. if money is tight i would just replace the big one. that will last longer. You don't have to push the button like you are holding a 20 dollar bill. just enough to light it up... I have a couple of them and have been running them for several months. I bought some other stuff, but i keep coming back to the 1000 twist. It just works and i have no issues. I don't want to tinker. it is the same reason i did not roll my own cigs. I have not got time for that ... I don't like smoking and i am just using this thing to get my fix! it should not be a hassle.

Where did you get your 1000mah twist? It should still be under warranty.

Thank you - that was very helpful. I tried it, but because I've got some kind of curse for breaking things, I ended up pulling the battery out too quick and ripped the wires out, lol! guess the warrantee question is a moot point now, but had I been a little more gentle, it might have worked.

Damn. I'm like a bull in a china shop. Thanks though - I appreciate you finding the video.

I would check into the warranty as well.

I've broken 3 ego style batteries in 4 months, so I'm a bit rough on my equipment. A $150 budget gives you some wiggle room. Since you like the Twist, I would get another one of those to act as a backup for some other device. Personally I would advise you to get certified so you can get into the classified ads. Then I'd try to find a used ProVari for about $90-$115. You might want to look into buying a new vamo ($40-60) as well. The two mods I just mentioned are all variable voltage, but are bigger than the eGo type batteries. You would also need to buy batteries and chargers for them.

x6 Variable Voltage 1300mAh eGo Battery - MyFreedomSmokes.com
This eGo type mod (mentioned in a post above) looks like a decent buy if you don't mind being limited to a maximum of 4.2v

You might also want to look into the Silver Bullet AltSmoke.com | Personal Vaporizers | Electronic Cigarette | Ecigs | | Silver Bullet | Best electronic cigarettes| Cigarettes Electronic| Cigarette Electronic Cigarette| Best Electronic Cigarettes | Electronic Cigarettes at $85. It's a mechanical mod, so it does not have adjustable voltage, but it's built to last.

I like eGo Twists and I always own at least one. They are light weight and convenient. They also tend to break when ever I look at one sideways. :( I'd replace them for now, but start researching other mods and seriously consider going with something more durable in the future. Just so you know, eGo style batteries have a maximum expected lifespan of about 9 months to a year because eventually they won't hold a charge anymore.

Hope that helps.

Jenny , I've manage to 'Break' a few Ego batteries so don;t fee too bad.

If you want something fairly inexpensive and really durable take a look at the VAMO.

A little bigger than an Ego battery but has withstood all the abuse I have put it through
and it is still working just fine.

Here is a link so you can see what they look like ....

You could also invest in a Vision Spinner as a backup. Its 1300mah and variable voltage and very easy to read/adjust. Ive never owned an ego T but from what I hear, the Visions are easier to read and adjust than the Egos. Ive dropped mine a few times with no issue, and the charge lasts all day. I rotate a few of these with my Vamo and love them just as much.
