Well I used to roll my own cigarettes, unfiltered, so I wasn't expecting to break even for a while. Therefore I am very happy to report that I broke even after just 34 days, and have now saved £27.

That's including all hardware and shipping, including some things purchased in error, and ready-mixed juice.

At the moment the juice is costing me a little over £2 a day, but when I begin to mix my own it'll be about 49p a day. As a heavy user and even heavier ex smoker, my daily costs would be higher than most.

Obviously some parts will need replacing, but I've already saved enough for a third battery and a few atomisers/cartomisers/tanks etc.

:D

I bought a carton every 5 days for my wife and I. At $30 and up, that's $200 a month. It didn't take me long to break even and make money.

It's the people who have to order and try one of everything who spend their credit card limit. Some astute reading on ECF and making the right choices can get you where you want to be at a minimum price. You just have to ask the right questions and read the right threads. Good search parameters can find the right info and pay off in dollars down the road.

I'll probably end up truly breaking even around the end of july, since i just bought new stuff to pass my current kit down to wife (she's still smoking analog). I picked up a few different juice-holders (a DC tank, clearos, drip tip) to test out and see if I have a preference, but nothing that's going to break the bank any time soon. Once you have a main kit all the bits n bobs aren't terribly expensive. So yea, 2 good kits, some parts to try, and easily 120mL of juice we'll be breaking even in a month.

Well I have decided to have a rule that I can only order new stuff, including liquid, with the savings. When I break even on DIY -v- readymade, purchases will only be allowed on savings made there. Once I am fully up and running I'll set aside a bit for replacing bits of my kit that get worn out beyond recovery. That way it can't get too out of hand.

The pieces bought in error were due to clicking the wrong button on a site, a mislabelling and a personal preference issue. They were not due to a lack of research.
