Heart of Dixie
I noticed my batteries (the 2 that came in the kit) were getting nasty looking around the threads and air holes plus I think they were stopping up. I think I read somewhere here that they could be cleaned with alcohol; so I used a toothbrush and isopropyl and cleaned the ends of the batteries and blew the air holes out with compressed air. The funk is gone and they look clean, but however one doesn't work anymore, wont charge nada. Customer Service is going to replace it but I'm curious of the dos and don't about battery cleaning... any ideas or comments out there?:(

Moisture in batteries is very bad. Everyone has a different techinique for cleaning them. For me I have a couple super cheap washrags from Walmart or Dollar store. The kind with the rough nap that hurt your skin cause they are so cheap. I get a spot good and damp with alcohol. Then use that spot on the rag to clean the threads really well. If that isn't enough I use a DRY toothbrush to knock loose any debris in the threads. Then wipe rally good with the rag again. Then I use a small sewing needle (or straight pen) to poke through the holes on the sides. That should be all you even need to clean your batteries. You never want to use a toothbrush soaked with alcohol. This could get alcohol down into the battery and short it out.
