Hi there, my wife dropped her Prodigy and it burnt out the Resistor and or switch. I attempted to fix it with no luck but I was able to replace the switch with a generic Radio Shack press button but its just not the same she sais:(

Will she be able to get a replacement switch? (she does not mind buying a new one seeing that she dropped it) Or will I have to keep it modded and if so what kind of Resistor does it need(5.7volts) and where could I find one?

I did have to modify the switch housing a bit to allow for the bigger switch hole so I don't think the original press button will ever work again with her
switch housing.

Thanks in advanced for any help...

Thanks Steve!!! I modified the Housing so it wont work with the original button
had to drill a 7/16 hole to fit the new push button.

The only thing that will be salvageable is the button housing and plastic button.
The button it self is shot(my fault)

If possible I would make an order with a few things you have in stock and somehow include a new switch minus the button housing and when I get it I will send the modded one back so she can still use it during the wait. Let me know if thats cool and I will CC Casey and go from there..

TY

No the plastic bridge was drilled thru to make room for the 3/8" depth of the new press button. I know I should have just let it be and wait for a replacement but the wife's needs always seem to win,lol

I can send a picture if needed, but I dont mind paying for a whole new switch, the only thing I can use is the button housing and top of press button.

By the way, I really suck at soldering but it works, lol If I have to wait till you get more housings in, maybe I can just get the right resistor and I wil pop that in to hold her over till you get more stock and caught up?

Thanks for all the help.

P.S I just vaped her Prodigy running around 8volts, pretty intense hit and is actually as close to a real cig as I have tried, just not the best flavor!!!

just as a side note I thought I had broke my prodigy the other night too i accidently knocked it off my table with my goliath oaf hands. and it fell on the floor and didnt work. I tried the atomizer on a old battery and the atomizer worked,so i took everything apart and put it back together making sure that i kinda pressed the batteries in really good before screwing on the end cap. After that its working perfectly.
What i think happened is that during the fall the switch housing slid down just a lil bit towards the end cap inside the tube breaking contact with the adapter...once i pushed the batteries back in firmly im guessing it slid the switch housing back up into the contact of the adapter thus allowing the circuit to complete once more. no big deal and i just thought i would share my experience before anyone does the same and freaks out thinking they blew there prodigy up when in reality it might only be a small problem.

Great info for sure, always go through every option first!!! The prodigy is built really well and easy to diagnose and trouble shoot. This is my wifes prodigy and I try to keep her happy so I already tweaked it for her. The first thing I did was of course airbrushed the Logo. The second thing I did was wrapped a small wire around each connector lead to keep it a tad extended on the each side of the post's so it would always make good contact on batts and atty side.

I thought maybe it might just have messed up the contact points as well but the resistor was black and really hot with no continuity going though, so figured it was bad. Although I am no expert at electronics, more of a rigger at best so who knows.

Steve and Casey have been really helpful in getting her going again and nothing but big thanks:D As soon as they have the 510 ready I will for sure get a prodigy of my own, instead of always using hers when I need a good vape.
