brought a dead atty back to life
well i had an atty crap out on me for the first time today. but there was no way i would settle for a 2 week life span on any thing i buy; so this is what i did

1- boil atty in cola for 10 mins
2- rinse off cola
3- put atty and rubbing alochol in cup -stir and shake for 5 mins
4- rince well with water
5- place on foil in 200* toaster oven for 5 mins to dry

let cool and enjoy

Everyone has their little atomizer tricks. You use whatever works. Good to hear it came back to you.

Most 4081 attys are pretty hard to kill.

Only way I have found to kill a RN4081 is to drop it on a concrete floor.
I use my 4.4v pass thru RN4081 a lot; over 1 year now.
I am ready to switch to my M401 pass thru; but the RN4081 just won't die.

Occasionally, if I need a cleaning, I soak mine in Everclear (Grain Alcohol) for a day or so. I then blow it out gently, drop a couple of drops on the bridge, and use it. Any excess alcohol will vape out with the juice.

There is no such thing as bringing a dead atomizer to life. If you did, you would have a marketable skill. If you used a multimeter on the atomizer, you would have easily determined if it was dead or injured. Dead is dead is dead is dead. Period. You cannot, nor can anyone, resurrect a dead atomizer. If the atomizer was dying, you may think you have performed a miracle, but it will likely be totally dead very soon.

After cleaning, the 4081's take a nap. It takes a while, and some serious puffing to wake them up.

I've only had one go bad when the switch in my battery got stuck in the on position. I set it down after a puff, started typing, looked to the right, and saw it was still glowing with some smoke coming from the cart. By the time I picked it up and unscrewed it, it had shutdown on it's own, and it was the atty burning out. Stupid battery.

I have damaged 2 this way-- Ditch the bad battery. Send it back to where you bought it(See if they will replace it) or dispose of it. You can pay 9-17 for a new bat or pay even more burning up atomizers.
