Hi all,

After pleading a case made for a new sub-forum it has been highly suggested that we try a "social group" first... With the example of the Evic having started out that way *before* it was finally given it's own sub-forum (!?!)

I've created such a group that is at the time of this posting "awaiting moderation".

It's called "Budget Mechanical mods" with the following description:

Affordable mechanical mods, usually $100 or less, often based on a design of a more expensive one.

I hope this social group can become a place where each budget mech, including all the various "clones" (i.e. sigelei, Kamry, etc.) can be fully discussed and collaborated upon without squishing everything into a single thread or two ;) Inline photos, just like the forum, work fine, as do links. All standard forum rules apply.

Each social group is responsible for it's own moderators as well and while I have put myself down as one do not intend to do all the moderating myself! So please, if anyone has the spare time to invest I'm looking for folks to help me moderate this group (assuming it is approved).

Any comments, suggestions, opinions are welcome in this thread as well.

Keep on vaping!

The social group has been approved!

I made this group so that inexpensive mechs might be discussed without competing with the others for "front page" space to such a degree. Each popular Sigelei, etc. can easily have it's own thread.

Please feel free to join if you have an interest in these less expensive mechanical mods, whether you own one now or are considering your first purchase. Still looking for a couple of volunteer moderators for it too!

I'm sure I'll be doing more learning than contributing but I do like the idea of a separate subforum just for budget mech tinkering.

Also I'm probably not the best candidate, being pretty new here, but I'd be willing to take on the onerous task of monitoring this sub-forum and upholding the forum rules.

Although.. I am now wondering.. why don't you take on this responsibility Oktyabr? I vote for you and if you refuse then I nominate myself, lol.

Thanks guys!

I'm automatically a moderator since I am the one that formed the group. I can't be online 24 hours a day though so multiple mods are the rule of thumb in cases like this. Also if I should happen to disappear or god forbid, become a vendor (vendors cannot have groups), having mods available makes the task of transferring "ownership" a much easier process rather than risk the closure of the group.

Statistic, consider yourself modded :)

mmm.. this thread is bumpalicious!!

Anyone interested in discussing budget mechs in all their glory should come have a vape with us!

I imagine discussion will spill over into other budget conscious topics but the focus is mechanical vaping on a budget and all that goes with it from deal hunting to budget conscious user modifications in pursuit of of the best possible vape at the lowest possible cost.

Anyone know of a budget friendly mech mod, brushed finish, thats also flush mount? Preferable side button that would look good with an RSST? Longshot here but hopeful. I have a Smoktech Telescopic, but the bottom button, along with an RSST forces me to lock the button after each vape.

If I sit it sideways the RSST Leaks, and if i just sit it down vertically, the weight of the RSST causes it to fire.

A Sigelei #8 might fit your needs. Side button, flat top, brushed SS finish. You can find them for under $30 on sale. I have one and it's an excellent mod for the $.

Actually just paid for a Sigelei #20 from the classifieds. What I really want, is the Atmizoo Dingo or Roller. One day.
