Hi guys im new to this forum and would like to ask all the seniors on why my build and wicks usually get that black-ish in color really fast (half a day) after rebuilding and vaping. Been running a dual fused clapton 28g x2 core and 32g outer wire 8 wraps around a 3mm id on my velocity RDA clone. Firing ard 60-70watts on my dna 200 device. My wickings shouldnt be the problem as i wick it not too tight and not too lose for the cotton. Ive seen people last for quite a long time atleast a month or so with the fused clapton build and here i am using it and not lasting even 2 days and the coils and wicks turning black.

Welcome aboard @Powerpac!

What kind of juice? Dark/sweet? It does sound like it might be a little hot and starting to singe the wick. Are you noticing the taste being off?
Yes i do taste the juice abit off. Im usually vape creamy juice which is either brown or yellow in color. Sweet side.

Maybe you are using thick dark liquids.

60-70 watts isn't low, maybe your coils get too hot.

I vape 10-20 watts, and I tend to want to change wick after 2 days. By then it's always black.

If you are using tc, you should by trial and error be able to adjust so that your wick never turns black.

When ya first wick it, try it at lower power. Work your way back up to a comfortable non singeing level.

Will definately try the method to see if it works. But i dont know if it just me or the juice is the problem.
It's probably the juice, some companies add extra sweeteners, which junk up the coils faster. I vape DIY strawberries and cream, I don't add any extra sweeteners, this is what my coils and wick look like after 4 days
