Building a "hana" style mod with the fasttech enclosure: looking for tips, tricks, and suggestions

The supplied 510 will fit once a little of the anodising has been removed - you can use a small piece of wood to protect the connection then hammer it in - it's a similar process to hitting the top cap back on a Provari.

Ok so you have your kit and can confirm this? I sanded quite a bit and it still wouldn't go in.

Not sure if I assembled the stock 510 connection right.. Looks kinda wobbly and the insulator does not fit inside the hole of the 510.

Also, did anyone try forcing the 510 inside hole, using a hammer or with a pair of pliers?

I cant tell. but the pin I believe goes in from top to bottom. wider part of insulator on inside.

Yup don't have a camera at the min otherwise I' d show you picture - just covered the 510 with little piece of MDF - the hammer did the trick.

Just found out the tap I have is a M10x1.5 . These 1.0 pitch must be fairly rare. Anyone have a link to where I can get one online?

FDV v1 M10x1.5 and you could tap directly, FDV v3 inserts I believe those are M10x1.0.

Yep that will work for a tap up to 1/4"
or you could use a crescent wrench, I tapped mine today and it was very easy with a crescent wrench.

I'd like to put an FDV connector in my real hana. Any ideas how to remove all the epoxy they use without trashing my board, wiring, switches.

A soldering iron and a flat tip screwdriver should take it off.
