retird,

Is it worth sanding back some of the anodizing to improve conductivity?

I would... Direct metal to metal contact is always best for an electrical connection. If using that as the neg connection for the 510, I'd tap the threads of the case too to make sure that connection is clean too... (I know you directed that to Retird, but I wanted to redeem myself after my last question lol).

Edit: If you find a close up pic of the inside of a legit Hana you can see the connection is sanded clean...

Thank you sir!

I just remember all the issues with the Squape clones and their anodized decks.

Funny you should mention.... started a mod build yesterday with the FT enclosure and the first thing I did was to drill out the anodizing inside the 510 connector hole as I'm not gonna use a case ground...

Retird, Been meaning to ask where you are getting the 510 connector that you are using to replace the one the box came with?

Moved to Variable Voltage APV Discussion from the Modding Forum - Battery Mods

Shouldn't this stay in the modding forum, considering I'm asking how to build a DNA30 mod using the empty "Hana" style enclosure from fasttech?

Fasttech "Hana" box - looking for tips, tricks, and suggestions...

Let's come up with a better title for the thread so I don't do it again :)

I've got a couple of Fattdaddy spring loaded but not gonna use them in this build as I have no tap yet.... just using a good sealed 510 connector I have in stock...think I got it at Madvapes....not the quality as FD's but never had an issue with them....

retird, I was going to pick up a tap to use the FD connector. If my memory serves me correctly, it's a 20x1 thread, correct?

Saved this post from another member:

Pulled the 510 and replaced with fat daddy 22mm floating 510 connector, for those wondering use a 9mm drill bit and an m10x1 tap for this.

Nice to see some interest in building a mod with this enclosure. I ordered one it should be here next week I am going to use an authentic DNA 30 Chip and charging board.
My own single strand copper wire and a fat daddy 510 I like the tactile switches But are there any other options other than glueing them in?
Another quick question how is everyone attaching the screen/ Chip to the enclosure? Just glued in place?
I was thinking a Shapeways cradle and DNA Screen Bezel.
Any thoughts on this?

Steamer861, I was thinking about using jonniemac's shapeways.com setup; https://www.shapeways.com/model/1848892/screen-cradle-and-clamp-combo-pack.html?modelId=1848892&materialId=6.

That's the one I'm looking at also.....

He does nice things.... I don't see where the thickness of the enclosure is mentioned. It may be that it may fit different thicknesses but I just don't know....might be worth contacting him....I've used screen bezels on several mods and had to reduce the enclosure thickness to get them to work....not really a problem just more work....

I am so apprehensive about using jb weld epoxy that I bought because it says steel reinforced. I am afraid I am going to short something. I plan on using hot glue for the display and epoxy for the usb and buttons.

Retird If you remember I pmd you about the epoxy I just want to make 100% sure the stuff you are using from jb says steel reinforced and you have had no problems?

Here is JB welds facts web page... FAQs » JB Weld

Will J-B Weld conduct electricity?

No. J-B Weld is not considered to be a conductor. It is an insulator.

And yes I've built no less than 10 mods with JB weld with no issues....

Hot glue for display and epoxy for usb and buttons can work too.... your choice....

At the end of the day just use what you are comfortable using....
