Actually I rebuilt a Kanger Aerotank dual coil today. It was kind of rough but it worked. It was a test run for my micro coil building. It came out ugly, but after "brushing" the coils and tightening them up, it didn't come out looking too bad. I need some eco-wool or something to finalize the project. I would run SS mesh but it seems to throw the E1 error on my mod. So I'm going to steer clear of the mesh for now.

If your lookin to make a micro coil, youtube "rip trippers micro coil protank 2" simple and easy to understand instructions ;)

Yes this is where I learned it. He makes some quality videos showing how to make the microcoil for a kanger. Funny too.

Making the coils is relatively easy, it's the wick that gives me fits.

Ugly, works and cheap beats $6+ for a new pack of new every day of the week! Congrats on diving into the rebuilds...it's definitely the way to go. I still use and like Ekowool, works pretty well for me. Cotton does taste a bit better, but its a lot more fussy from what I've experienced. My Kangers are my go-to mobile kit, so they have to work reliably and well, all the time. I save the cotton for my RDA's/RBA's mostly.

Congrats on diving in! Next up, an RDA!

Ok for the guy that asked me for the wisdom - play around with it. I wasted about 10 feet of Kanthal A1 32G wire. If you're new like me, you will waste quite a bit at first. But once you get your tools and an idea of WHAT you want, you'll eventually get it. The wire - yeah it sucks to throw it away like that, BUT - it was free wire that came with the 500 stainless steel mesh wick so no big loss. Plus at 100 feet for 62 cents per foot I'm not too worried.

As for the photos - I'll attach them for you:

That's the pictures: I was going to attach the Ohm reading but keeps coming out blurry - 1.2 Ohms @ 3.5V is still rough. But yeah, no shorts when I finally figured everything out. Before getting everything out, it was all horrible. Also I got something else to show you.

Here's some more of the Z-Atty Pro on my other coil:

The wick and coil were oxidized with a Bic lighter. 1st the wick was oxidized to a bright red glow. Then the coil was built on a 1/16 drill bit and spun onto the wick. Afterwards the wick and coil were oxidized together and placed inside the Z-Atty Pro using the supplied plastic grommet to prevent shorts in the wick hole of the atty. It's pretty good, produces good clouds - but the flavor is a bit off. Not as strong as the ceramic, but the coil is AMAZING! It's a 2.2 Ohm coil and it gets pretty hot pretty fast @ 4.2V. I'm impressed. Alot LESS Kanthal A1 32G wire was wasted. I did roll the 1st wick too thin though. May clip it with some clippers and replace that 400 stainless mesh with the 500 in that rebuilt Kanger atomizer.

Well, I was disappointed with my Z-Atty Pro wick and coil, then I took a couple drags off it and now it has returned to its former glory as my amazing flavor tank.

Also note that my wick is a hollow, straw-like, wick. Works wonders. Flavor is subjective though but in my opinion, the 500 makes things more profound. I can taste the tobacco, honey, and caramel. 2 sweets and a tart.
